March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month.
Developmental disabilities are a group of conditions that begin during childhood and can affect how a person learns, communicates, moves, or cares for themselves. These conditions often continue throughout a person’s life and may require different types of support.
Examples of developmental disabilities include autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, and intellectual disabilities.
Raising awareness helps communities better understand the importance of accessibility, inclusion, and support so that people of all abilities have the opportunity to participate, contribute, and thrive.
