This 9‑month Lab Cohort is a distinguished professional learning program for music teaching artists working in community‑based and El Sistema‑inspired programs across the U.S. and Canada.

This week, BRAVO staff wrapped up their second week of PD with teaching labs, lesson planning and management work with Kathleen Galazin Krull , an instrument‑cleaning workshop, and even some time to make music and choose repertoire for the year. We’re energized and ready to welcome our students in just a few days.

We’re kicking off this week with our Professional Development sessions for BRAVO staff as we get ready to welcome our students in just a few weeks.

We had the pleasure of hosting arts and community leader Stanford Thompson as a special guest, who spoke with us about organizational culture.

Along with school training and program planning, our team also took time to connect, bond, and have fun together.

We can’t wait to begin another inspiring year at BRAVO, full of music, growth, and community.

Comenzamos la semana con las sesiones de desarrollo profesional para el personal de BRAVO, preparándonos para recibir a nuestros estudiantes dentro de muy pocas semanas.

Tuvimos el placer de contar con la presencia de Stanford Thompson, líder en el ámbito artístico y comunitario, como invitado especial, quien conversó con nosotros sobre la cultura organizacional.

Además de la capacitación escolar y la planificación del programa, nuestro equipo también dedicó tiempo a conectar, estrechar lazos y divertirse.

In the middle of a year defined by distance, our students found connection through music.
Playing Miguel Matamoros’ iconic Son de la Loma alongside guest artists Alex and Alma Martínez during COVID was more than a performance, it was an act of hope.
Moments like this showed how BRAVO’s mission continued to shine through every challenge, powered by the courage and creativity of our young musicians. Their strength in that moment continues to inspire the future we’re building.

En medio de un año definido por la distancia, nuestros estudiantes encontraron conexión a través de la música.

Interpretar el icónico Son de la Loma de Miguel Matamoros junto a los artistas invitados Alex y Alma Martínez durante la pandemia fue más que una presentación: fue un acto de esperanza.

Momentos como este demostraron cómo la misión de BRAVO siguió brillando a través de cada desafío, impulsada por el coraje y la creatividad de nuestros jóvenes músicos. La fortaleza que mostraron en ese momento continúa inspirando el futuro que estamos construyendo.

Last Friday, we were thrilled to participate in the Rosa Parks Elementary School homecoming event, where students explored different orchestra instruments and learned about all the activities we do at BRAVO.

Thank you for creating these welcoming spaces for community partners. We’re grateful for the collaboration and excited for another meaningful school year ahead!

El viernes pasado, estuvimos encantados de participar en el evento de bienvenida de la Escuela Primaria Rosa Parks, donde los estudiantes exploraron diferentes instrumentos de orquesta y conocieron todas las actividades que ofrecemos en BRAVO.

LOCATION: Hybrid

PAY: $45,550 (equivalent of $35/hr, non-negotiable)

POSITION SUMMARY
BRAVO is in an exciting place of growth as we strengthen existing programs while also building new ones. We are looking for an experienced fundraiser to work with our existing development team that includes the Executive Director, Director of Operations, Community Engagement Manager, and Grant Writer. This new hire will work with a robust community of existing supporters while also working to establish new ones. BRAVO’s annual budget is approximately $1M. BRAVO utilizes GiveButter Plus as its CRM and fundraising platform. Knowledge of GiveButter is not required, but experience using fundraising software is.

The IGM will manage all development activities related to annual giving, major gifts, donor management and cultivation. Plan and achieve the fundraising goals of the organization alongside the BRAVO development team.

This flexible, part-time position is perfect for the seasoned fundraiser that is looking to be part of a beloved and supportive community but is not looking for full-time hours.
