Valencia Negros Oriental PERUV - Parish Emergency Rescue Unit Volunteers PERUV is a parish-based volunteer rescue group formed in 2001.

Starting with 11 trained volunteers, it has grown into a faith-driven team dedicated to emergency response, medical assistance, disaster support, and serving the community with compassion.

PERUV conducted an engaging session on First Aid, Survival, and Basic Life Support for the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of Valencia Central Elementary School during the BSP Camporal & GSP Encampment 2026.

The session was led by our Medic Team Leader and Speaker, JM Andales (PV-67), who shared essential knowledge and practical skills to help our young scouts stay prepared and respond confidently during emergencies.

In support of this preventive measure, PERUV, in partnership with Colegio de San Pedro Recoletos, conducted a disinfection of the school premises to help provide a safe and healthy environment for our students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

As of the 5:00 AM PAGASA briefing on Thursday, July 9, 2026, Typhoon Inday (Bavi) has officially weakened from a super typhoon into a regular typhoon as it tracks west-northwestward over the Philippine Sea. The center of the storm is packing maximum sustained winds of 185 km/h with gusts up to 230 km/h.

While a direct land hit remains unlikely, its massive wind field spans 900 kilometers, keeping Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1 active across 12 provinces in Northern Luzon. Crucially, the typhoon is driving an intense Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), threatening widespread flooding across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao through the weekend.
