Portland Songwriters Guild has grown into something bigger than I ever imagined when we started four years ago. And now, we need to make some changes to make sure it can keep going.

PSG is still 100% volunteer-run, and we’ve reached a point where our current model simply isn’t sustainable. That means making some hard decisions, including postponing this fall’s songwriting challenge, while we work toward a future with more consistent funding, a stronger volunteer team and eventually paid staff.

If PSG has helped you find a friend, collaborator, bandmate, stage or songwriting community, there are two big ways you can help right now: volunteer with us or become a monthly supporter for $5–$15.

Both links are in our bio. 🖤

Thank you for showing up for this community and helping us build whatever comes next.

Sam

Four years ago, PSG started with a songwriter round and a little songwriting challenge. Since then, this community has grown into something bigger than we ever imagined.

But PSG is still 100% volunteer-run, and we’ve reached a point where the way we operate needs to change if we want this organization to last.

So we’re making some hard decisions, building a more sustainable model and asking our community to help us carry the work.

Swipe through for an update on where we are and what comes next. 🖤

If PSG has given you a place to share a song, meet a collaborator, find a bandmate, make a friend or simply feel more connected to Portland music, we hope you’ll consider getting involved.

Volunteer opportunities + monthly giving at the link in our bio.

Thank you for continuing to build this with us.

We’re back at Atlantis Lounge on Monday with our open mic!

Sign-ups start at 6:30p, and we run in a “songwriters in the round” format where three songwriters share the stage and take turns playing two songs each.

Atlantis is all ages until 9p, and we have a $5-10 suggested donation at the door to help support PSG programming.

See you there!
