PawPalooza 2026 was a beautiful reminder of what is possible when a community comes together with compassion and purpose.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of this community, PAW Team raised over $115,000 at PawPalooza, blowing past our goal of $75k! ❤️🥹🐶🐾😻

The event was an unforgettable evening that celebrated the volunteers, supporters, and animal-lovers who make PAW Team’s lifesaving work possible - helping ensure that Portlanders in need do not have to face impossible choices regarding the wellbeing of their beloved companion animal.

PAW Team’s Continued Care Program provides ongoing, often long term care for pets who have more medically complex needs or chronic health conditions.

Our medical staff and volunteers can provide medications, prescription diets, and the ongoing support families need to care for their beloved companions. Care plans are tailored to meet the unique
needs of the pets and people who come to our doors.

The Mozart & Casper Memorial Fund for Feline Friends began in 2024 to honor the lives of Mozart and Casper, two very special and inseparable kitties who left an enormous impact on their devoted person. After
their passing, their human companion established this fund to ensure that Portland pet owners can access the care their cats need.

This fund helps ensure that the feline patients PAW Team sees through this program have uninterrupted access to what they need to stay happy and healthy for as long as possible.

This week would have been Mozart’s birthday (2nd picture). Cheers to a special kitty. His legacy is long-lasting!

Woo-hoo, we did it! Thanks to you, we hit and SURPASSED our Summer $20k Match by raising $32,000 towards PAW Team’s veterinary services!

Your support helps pets like Chippie, the 9-year-old pomeranian. Last month, Chippie came to PAW Team for an exam because she was lethargic, vomiting, and not eating (1st photo). At her appointment, Chippie was diagnosed with pyometra, an infection of the uterus that requires urgent treatment.

We were able to facilitate a spay quickly, but unfortunately, Chippie was already so sick that she needed intensive post surgical care. The partner clinic who performed the spay was unable to provide that level of monitoring, so a second veterinary partner stepped in to take over.

After two nights of hospitalization and supportive care, Chippie made a full recovery! She is as bright and energetic as ever, and at home with the person she is bonded to. What a glow-up in the 2nd photo! 😍

Your generosity helps PAW Team bolster the care we can provide to our patients at our clinic AND through our veterinary partners. PAW Team stepped in to save Chippie in a moment in crisis, and our work to increase spay/neuter access will prevent this life-threatening illness for many more!

In August, PAW Team served 1,183 unique families through our Pet Food & Supply Bank, including Buddy the chihuahua and his person pictured here. ❤️

Through our clinic, our team provided direct veterinary services to 275 individual pets, ranging from wellness, spay/neuter, urgent needs and chronic conditions, and even end-of-life care. Countless more families came to our door each day with questions regarding their beloved pet’s health.

Thank you to our incredible volunteers and supporters for making it all possible!

And THANK YOU to PETS ON BROADWAY for an amazing donation of dog food from a recent drive with partners at Nulo Pet Food ! Summertime is always tough for donations, but this helped us stock our shelves and feed the community another day.

Behind the scenes sneak peak of PawPalooza!

Remember these two? Michael and Lil Miss have been utilizing PAW Team services since 2023. We last shared their story in December, after PAW Team provided temporary foster care for Lil’ Miss when Michael was unexpectedly hospitalized, as part of our new (small but growing) Crisis Foster Care Program.

Good news - Michael and Lil’ Miss are doing GREAT. In fact, Michael offered to share their story with our team on camera! Their story will be highlighted at PawPalooza, our September fundraising gala, alongside other stories of the impact PAW Team has on pets and people in Portland thanks to your support, volunteer time, and advocacy. 💕

Dr. Mary (left) has been with PAW Team since the very beginning. She has volunteered consistently in our clinic for over 25 years! Dr. Mary has provided care and compassion to COUNTLESS pets and people in Portland. At our recent wellness clinic, she worked alongside another special volunteer - her daughter, Audrey. Chihuahuas Ricky (left) and Diva (right) are more than just pets to their person Linda; they are her dedicated support animals, constant companions, and center of her world. During a recent visit to our drop-in wellness clinic, both dogs settled right into Linda’s lap, keeping close while waiting to be seen.

Ricky and Diva visited PAW Team to receive updated vaccinations, preventatives, and microchips, and to be added to our spay/neuter waiting list—essential veterinary care required for them to stay compliant with local housing program guidelines. While at the clinic, Linda was also able to pick up food, leashes, and collars for her beloved pets.

Navigating housing requirements alongside rising veterinary costs can create daunting financial hurdles for pet guardians on fixed incomes. Strict housing mandates mean that accessible routine care is often the single key to keeping families housed and whole. Through our community clinics, PAW Team bridges these gaps so that loving guardians like Linda have the resources they need to keep their companions safe and right where they belong.

As Linda shared: “I can’t afford shots, so this place is a true blessing. I love PAW Team.”
