We're grateful to the 77 pet owners who trusted PAW Team to care for their pets at this weekend's Drop-In Wellness Clinic.

Pets received critical preventive and wellness care including a checkup, full physical exam, vaccinations, microchips and more. Every pet we see is given options for vaccination boosters to ensure they receive the full protection they deserve.

Huge thank you to the for sponsoring this months clinic. Their support helps PAW Team care for more pets.

We first met Oona at a recent drop-in wellness clinic. The 16 year-old Siamese came in for vaccine boosters and a physical exam. Her owners were concerned about Oona’s declining mobility and the effect it was having on the quality of her life.

Diagnosed with arthritis, PAW Team volunteer veterinarians prescribed Solensia to manage her condition. Her owners say it’s been a miracle for Oona and brought back a pep in her step they haven’t seen in a long time.

Solensia is expensive, and Oona’s owners simply couldn’t afford the regular injections she would require. Thanks to PAW Team’s Mozart & Casper Memorial Fund For Felines Friends, Oona will receive this life-changing care for free, for as long as she needs.

This fund supports the ongoing medications, prescription food, or lab work needed specifically for cats with chronic conditions.

Today would have been Casper’s birthday! His legacy lives on by keeping cats in our community healthy, happy, and with their loving families.

Uh-oh! We are running DANGEROUSLY low on dry cat food for our Pet Food & Supply Bank. Where did it all go? Probably to the 563 visitors we have served so far in March.

We only have enough dry cat food portions for the first ~20 families who come in tomorrow, and cat food starting to run low as well. Even as demand has grown over the last several years, we have never had to turn a guest away due to an empty shelf! If you have any coins to spare, consider sending a bag our way from our Amazon or Chewy lists (link in bio), or shopping local!

Thanks for helping us support Portland pets and their people. ❤️

Earlier this year, PAW Team was invited by the Human-Animal Bond Association to speak at two national conferences: The Veterinary Meeting and Expo in Orlando, Florida, and the Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

We shared our expertise on why increasing access to veterinary care is not just an ideal, but an imperative. What an honor to have the opportunity to share our work with veterinary professionals from around the world!

Thank you to our incredible speaker Melody Martínez () and Co-Directors Nicole Perkins and Briana Shrode for representing Portland’s efforts.

Spay and neuter care is essential! These services benefit a pet’s health, reduce pet overpopulation, and are sometimes required for housing and shelter. 🐾

Even basic veterinary costs can be a significant barrier for people already struggling to meet their own needs. Without access to affordable services like spay & neuter surgery, many pets remain unaltered, risking further financial stress for pet owners who are doing their best to care for their animals. 😻

PAW Team has worked to increase access to spay & neuter services by partnering with groups like Fern Hill Veterinary Care in Happy Valley to facilitate spay and neuter surgeries for PAW Team clients, at no cost to them. Dr. Zambelli, owner of and long-time PAW Team volunteer veterinarian, was eager to make the partnership work and provide the best care possible. 👩🏻‍⚕️

But performing surgeries still has a cost. The Meat & Jane Spay & Neuter fund was created in 2025 specifically to dedicate money towards providing more alternation surgeries for the long-list of PAW Team clients eagerly wanting the life-changing procedure. Spearheaded by Heidi, owner of , the fund has provided additional resources for over 250 pets receiving no-cost spay and neuter services. ⚕️

Join us at Meat for Cats & Dogs this Saturday, March 7th 4- 7pm to celebrate their 21st birthday. PAW Team will be onsite celebrating and all funds raised from raffle sales and 20% of total sales for the day will be donated to the Meat & Jane Spay & Neuter fund! 🎉🎊🥳
