Today’s 3rd annual dawn to dusk Broughton Beach swim relay kicked off with a little rain, a little rainbow, and a surprise visit from Austin French and his folks who drove 3+ hrs to Portland from Bend just to swim with us in the Columbia River, then promptly drove back to Bend for a swim meet! Austin is a HS junior with a serious interest in water safety and drowning prevention. He’s a super fast distance swimmer, hoping for a spot in a Div 1 school. Here’s a poke to all the coaches out there looking for a rising star in the water and advocate for drowning prevention!
