Mark Your Calendar – The Eastern Prom Concerts Are Back in Town!

The 2026 Concert Line-Up Announced

This summer, the Eastern Promenade will come alive with free weekly concerts throughout July and August.

“Thursdays on the Prom” will feature free concerts every Thursday night at 6 pm, beginning July 9 and running through the end of August. In all, eight bands will perform during the summer.

“We’re thrilled to bring the community concert series back,” said Steve Campbell, president of the Friends of Eastern Promenade. “The Maine musicians who will perform are exceptional. Each group has a unique sound, a loyal following, and a deep appreciation for being from Maine.”

The 2026 line-up includes:

• Thursday, July 9 - The Renovators, showcasing jazz and drawing from the influences of soul, blues, funk, country rock, and New Orleans artists.
• Thursday, July 16 - Delta Knights Band, featuring a blend of blues, R&B, and classic rock.
• Thursday, July 23 – The Hidden Garden Band, a folk rock band featuring many originals.
• Thursday, July 30 – Chandler’s Military Band, a legendary community band, organized in 1833.
• Thursday, August 6 – Cattle Call, showcasing folk and country music.
• Thursday, August 13 – Blues Prophets, featuring your rhythm and blues.
• Thursday, August 20 – Misspent Youth, headlining classic rock tunes.
• Thursday, August 27 - Hello Newman, a ‘90s rock tribute band with some fun surprises along the way.

Concert goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, spread out a blanket, have a picnic and get ready for some wicked fun at these family-friendly gatherings. “It’s a great way to bring together friends, neighbors, and other Mainers and visitors to enjoy some fantastic music while taking in those incredible views,” said Campbell.

The concerts are made possible through the support of many supporters. “We are incredibly thankful and appreciate the generous support of Empeople Credit Union, Kennebec Savings Bank, Tom Landry from Benchmark Real Estate, and so many other neighbors and friends of the Prom,” Campbell added.

If you are interested in helping support the concerts – and the Friends of Eastern Prom – please mail your contributions to Friends of Eastern Promenade, PO Box 16025, Portland ME 04101-6025. You can also donate easily online at https://easternpromenade.org/monthly-donation.

So mark your calendars…and get ready for some fun. Stay tuned for more information, including details about the bands, in the coming weeks.
