🚨 SB 1548 UPDATE 🚨

Oregon cannabis community — we need your help right now.

SB 1548 has passed the Senate and is now in the House.
• Hearing: Monday (Feb 23)
• Committee vote scheduled: Wednesday (Feb 25)

This is a short runway.

SB 1548 is a really bad bill. It would crush Oregon’s regulated edibles market, drive up costs, force painful operational and product changes across the industry, and threaten jobs and small businesses.

In plain terms, it would:
• Require individual wrapping for every edible unit
• Cap each unit at 10mg THC (no scored formats)

That’s major disruption for manufacturers and consumers — and it raises real child-safety concerns once packages are opened and pieces can end up loose.

✅ TAKE ACTION (60 seconds):
Email your State Representative and ask them to VOTE NO.

If you already sent a letter to the Senate — thank you. Now do it again for the House.

Please share this post and tag industry folks. The House needs to hear from all of us this week.

I just wrote a letter to every Oregon State Senator as part of CIAO’s campaign to stop Senate Bill 1548—and I’d love it if you’d join me. This bill would force individual wrapping for every edible unit and cap servings at 10mg — dramatically harming Oregon’s regulated edibles market and ...

🚨 Oregon Cannabis Industry — This is urgent.

Oregon Senate Bill 1548 is moving fast and headed toward a Senate floor vote soon.

It could crush Oregon’s regulated edibles market.

👉 Use the “Help Stop SB 1548” link in bio — send a letter to every Senator in 60 seconds.

If passed, it would:
• Mandate individual wrapping for every edible unit
• Cap each unit at 10 mg THC
• Eliminate scored edible formats

That means significant packaging changes, production disruptions, product line impacts, and increased costs throughout Oregon’s regulated edibles market.

This isn’t a minor tweak — it fundamentally changes how edibles are produced and sold.

We need strong opposition ASAP.

Then please share this with others in the industry

Hey folks — have you heard about SB 1548?

This bill would impose new packaging mandates and a 10 mg-per-unit THC limit on edibles. That means major operational changes for Oregon’s regulated edibles market, higher costs for consumers and patients, and serious pressure on small and mid-sized businesses. It's moving fast in Salem, and we need to act fast to stop it!

It also raises real child-safety concerns. Federal standards are built around continuous child-resistant protection and reducing access points. Breaking products into loose mini-units once packages are opened may actually increase exposure risks.

If you work in cannabis—or care about keeping products in a safe, regulated system—please take 60 seconds to send a letter to the Oregon Senate asking them to vote no on SB 1548.

Legislators need to hear clearly that the industry and consumers oppose this approach.

After you send your letter, please share this and help build momentum.
