SAVE THE DATE - SATURDAY JUNE 3rd
For the Maine Educational Theatre Association's seventh annual
MAINE YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS' FESTIVAL
to be held at Portland Stage Company in Portland, ME.

This annual celebration of student-written plays offers Maine HS students a place to see their words jump off of the page and be seen and heard for the first time. The 2017 Maine Young Playwrights Festival will be held in Portland from 10:00am to 4:30pm on June 3rd. We want to see as many student scripts showcased in one day as we can! The format is wide open to allow schools to bring plays in any length up to 40 minutes, and in any presentation style from a simple reading to a staged reading to a fully-staged production and anywhere in between.

Please save the date of Saturday, June 3rd for this year's celebration of Maine's high school playwrights, and look for more information and a script submission form coming from Maine EdTA in February!

Any young playwrights out there? This is a great opportunity!

Acorn Productions is excited to announce that we are open for submissions to the 2017 Maine Playwrights Festival!
Now in our 16th year of nurturing the development of new scripts by Maine writers, this year's festival will take place in Portland from April 27 to May 6, 2017. Anybody living in Maine is eligible to submit a new play (8-30 minutes in length) for consideration. The deadline for submissions is December 2nd.
