Every day, people line up at Blanchet House for a hot meal. Some are experiencing homelessness. Some are working but can't make ends meet. Some are seniors, veterans, people with disabilities, or neighbors facing a temporary crisis.

We believe everyone deserves to eat. No questions asked.

People often say to adult men experiencing homelessness, "Get a job!"

John first got a room at Blanchet House and Farm. Then he got a job.

You can't get a job without an address, a safe place to sleep, a shower, and regular meals.

Once John had a room, he found work at the airport. Next, our staff connected him to services for veterans. He just moved into his own apartment thanks to support from Easterseals & Easterseals Oregon.

A job alone isn't enough to end someone's homelessness.

In Old Town Portland you’ll find our free cafe. We’ve been serving meals for almost 75 years.

We are critically low on to-go meals. Can you help? A typical sack lunch contains 1 sandwich (PB&J or meat), 1 snack, and 1 fruit cup or a soft fruit. Make and donate as many as you like. 100 days ago, we opened the doors to Bethanie’s Room women’s shelter, with a simple belief that everyone deserves a safe place to sleep.

- # of unique individuals: 264
- Avg. stay: 8 nights
- Median age: 43
- Youngest: 18
- Oldest: 77

We've given out at least:

- 31 housing referrals
- 66 bus tickets
- 2,008 pieces of clothing
- 87 pairs of shoes
- 983 hygiene items
