We're fresh into the Summer with our new K-Ching youth! K-CHING is a work preparedness program for youth and teens aged 11-17 in New Columbia managed by Home Forward with local non profits. This year we have three youth working with us. Diego, Solomon and Maria. Solomon is a returning K-Ching youth from last year and Maria is the daughter of one of oru most prolific gardeners. We love having them around and they put in work!

Neighbor to neighbor is back in full swing! This is our free CSA where weekly we provide free produce to our community members in need. From roughly thirty something last year we are now providing full boxes to 66 community members!

In this picture one of our community partners, the Moreau Center for Service & Justice, came through to help us last Thursday. Claire is the Director of the center at the University of Portland. She brought Amanda through who just started and who will be the coordinator of the Plunge Program. We are thankful for such a prosperous partnership.

We at Our Village Gardens would like to thank everyone who was a part of our 25th Anniversary Celebration! From our board, to the staff, to the government officials, to the donors of gifts for our giveaways, to the DJ and most of all to the community! We had a gorgeous day to celebrate! Also we unveiled our new signs for the Seeds of Harmony Community Garden and the Fruits of Diversity Community Orchard. 🌱 We’re celebrating 25 years of Our Village Gardens!
Located in the heart of Portland’s New Columbia neighborhood, we’re a diverse and mighty community growing food, flowers, and friendships together. Through our gardens, orchard, Village Market, and Neighbor-to-Neighbor program, we’re helping ensure all of our neighbors have access to fresh, locally grown food.

We’ve been feeding and building community for 25 years, and we’d love your support as we work toward raising $10,000 to help sustain this work for years to come.

Our Village Gardens got to speak with the incomparable (author of Braiding Sweethgrass along with other titles). Sharing with her the work that we are doing while being affirmed by her was a pure fanboy moment. We look forward to working with her organization in the near future and continuing the work.
