Join us for our first Culture Night of the year on September 2 as we prepare for NAYA's annual Neerchokikoo Powwow!

This special evening will feature three engaging cultural workshops designed to help youth and families connect with Native traditions ahead of the Powwow:

Session 1: Powwow Dancing (25 spots available)
Session 2: Two-Strand Necklace Making (25 spots available)
Session 3: Native Games (Grades 2–12 only) (25 spots available)

Registration is required for all sessions. Space is limited, and once a session is full, participants may sign up for the waitlist. If you are registering more than one participant, please complete a separate registration form for each person. These activities will be happening concurrently, so please only sign up for the one you are most interested in.

We hope you'll join us for an evening of culture, community, and fun as we kick off a new year of Culture Nights and celebrate the traditions that make our annual Neerchokikoo Powwow so special!

The Health Equity Team will be offering a VIRTUAL Basic To***co Intervention Skills (BTIS) training on Thursday, August 27th, 2026.

If you are unfamiliar with the training, you will learn how to give a brief intervention to members of our community that are interested in changing what their relationship looks like with Commercial to***co.

We recommend anyone who engages in direct service with our community to sign up!

NAYA Family Center is seeking a creative, strategic, and collaborative Communications Manager to lead the organization's communications efforts and elevate the stories, voices, and impact of Urban Native youth and families. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, this role is responsible for developing and executing communications strategies that strengthen NAYA's brand, engage community members and supporters, and advance the organization's mission through thoughtful storytelling and meaningful outreach.

You'll lead the creation of compelling content, support fundraising and community engagement initiatives, supervise communications staff, and help share the stories that inspire connection, advocacy, and investment in NAYA's work.

Donations can be dropped off at Bison Coffee House in Portland.
Current donations accepted:

Food Vendors Wanted!

NAYA is seeking 3 food vendors for our 14th Annual Neerchokikoo Powwow! We expect 6–8 drum groups and 500+ people at any given moment, so vendors should be prepared to serve a large crowd. The Powwow Committee will review all completed applications and notify selected vendors by email. All vendors must provide their own insurance, permits, and licenses as required. Please do not apply if you cannot meet all required guidelines. The application deadline is July 31, 2026.

In collaboration with Portland Parks Summer Free For All, NAYA will be hosting a free screening of Zootopia 2 in Kʰunamokwst Park, 5200 NE Alberta Street. Bring your own chairs or blankets and enjoy free programming including Indigenous Storytelling with Ed Edmo. The event begins at 7:30 pm with storytelling at 8 pm. The movie will begin at dusk.
