Committed. 🏀🎓

We’re incredibly proud to congratulate Roman Perry on his commitment to continue his basketball career Pratt Men’s Basketball
!
Roman joined Pro Skills Basketball - Portland in March of 2025 after spending most of the season on the JV team Lake Oswego (HS) Lakers Boys Basketball. In a year, he earned a starting role on the Lakers’ varsity team during the 2026-27 season, which is a testament to his commitment to improving every single day.

Roman was a huge part of our success this summer and last, helping lead us to an undefeated run against circuit teams at Prep Hoops Circuit Chicago Live before traveling to MADE Hoops Events Vegas Live, where he once again guided our team to an undefeated Session 2.

It has been an absolute privilege coaching Roman. His ability to finish at the rim, run the floor in transition, and compete against bigger opponents made him a difference-maker. What impressed us even more, though, was his relentless work ethic, coachability, stamina, punctuality, and willingness to give his absolute best every single day. He showed up, put in the work, and earned everything that came his way.

We only wish we had the opportunity to coach him from a younger age, but we’re incredibly grateful for the time we had together.

To go from primarily playing JV basketball junior year to becoming a varsity starter senior year and now joining the 1.5% of high school basketball players who go on to compete at the NCAA Division III level is an incredible accomplishment. Roman’s journey is proof that development, perseverance, and consistency matter.

Congratulations, Roman. Thank you for trusting PSB to be part of your journey. We can’t wait to see what you’ll accomplish as a Cannoneer.

Once PSB, Always PSB. 💛🖤

Yesterday marked the end of an era. Coaching my last game with Jackson Freeman was a tough one—after spending every offseason together since he was 12 years old, knowing this run is over hits hard. Jackson was right there with me when I started my AAU coaching journey, and watching his evolution over the years has been one of the highlights of my coaching career.

Through every high and low, Jackson stayed resilient. He locked in, trusted the process, and earned his role as a two-year starter Lake Oswego (HS) Lakers Boys Basketball, putting up big-time numbers his senior year and filling the stat sheet:

12.1 PPG
4.1 RPG
2.6 APG

Now, the hard work pays off: Jackson is officially committed to play college basketball for Portland CC MBB! 🏀🐾

He joins Roman Perry (Pratt Men’s Basketball), Elijah (Redwoods Mens Basketball), and Durbs (Linfield Men's Basketball) as guys from that 2026 PSB squad who earned college offers through their relentless work. Seeing this group reach the next level together makes it all worth it.

Jackson—man, I’m going to miss our time on the floor together. But I couldn’t be prouder of the player and person you’ve become. Excited to witness your continued growth from the sidelines and support you always.

Next stop: Portland Community College! 🔵🔴

Parents, choosing a basketball skills trainer is one of the more consequential decisions in your player's development, and a lot of parents make it based on Instagram followers. We have watched young players work with great trainers and bad ones for years. Our new post breaks down what tends to separate the two. The right credentials. The questions to ask. The red flags to walk away from. proskillsbasketball.com/how-to-choose-basketball-skills-trainer/

To every basketball dad who shows up: thank you. 🙏

For the driveway shooting sessions that ran past dinner. The rebounds you grabbed for hours without complaining. The post-game car rides where you knew when to talk and when to just let the music play. The lessons that had nothing to do with basketball and everything to do with becoming a good person.

You're your kid's first coach, biggest fan, and toughest critic, sometimes all in the same afternoon. And they notice. Even when they don't say it.

Today is yours. Happy Father's Day from the entire PSB family. 💛

Parents of high school players, shooting is the skill that tends to separate serious recruits from everyone else. We just updated our D1-level shooter workout. The volume, the form work, the situational reps, the tracking. Parents, here is the truth about shooting development. The players who become great shooters are not usually the ones who go to the most camps. They are the ones who put up the most reps. And those reps mostly happen at home. Our new post lays out at-home shooting workouts for youth players. Driveway. Garage. Park. Anywhere there is a hoop. proskillsbasketball.com/at-home-basketball-shooting-workouts/

From 12 years old to College of the Redwoods. 🏀🌲

We could not be more proud to announce that Elijah has officially committed to continue his academic and athletic career at College of the Redwoods!

This one hits incredibly close to home for PSB Portland. When our City Director, Will Boettcher, first started coaching Elijah at 12 years old on his original AAU team, he knew Elijah was special. In fact, Elijah’s drive and character were a massive part of the reason Will started his own club, which eventually evolved into what PSB Portland is today.

“Exposure” is a word that gets thrown around loosely in youth basketball. But actions speak louder than words. Elijah didn’t wait for exposure—he chased it. He embraced the process: utilizing , sending the emails, staying in constant communication with coaches, and mastering the little details that make a massive difference.

At PSB, our mission isn’t just about counting wins on the weekend; it’s about progress and actually helping kids reach their lifelong goals. We provide the tools, the guidance, and the college network, but the player has to put in the work. Elijah did exactly that.

Well done, Elijah. The entire PSB family, your high school community, and the city of Portland are behind you. We will be rooting for you and watching every step of the way! 🟠🔴🪵

Congratulations to Jackson Freeman (Lake Oswego High School) on earning 1st Team All-State honors in the Three Rivers League.

We have had the privilege of coaching Jackson since he was 12 years old, and throughout that time he has consistently brought incredible energy on both sides of the court. His commitment to improving his game, being a great teammate, and developing into a leader ultimately led to him serving as a captain for Lake Oswego.

Jackson continues to put in the work this spring with Pro Skills Basketball Portland as he pursues additional college opportunities and prepares to make his final decision for where he will play at the next level.

Proud of Jackson and everything he represents.

Congratulations to Heath Outalt on earning Honorable Mention in the Three Rivers League as a Junior at Lakeridge High School.

Heath has been working with Pro Skills Basketball Portland since the fall, and we are incredibly excited to have him joining our 17U team this season. His trajectory continues to climb as he pursues opportunities to play at the next level.

An extremely coachable player with tremendous effort, Heath brings great hustle on both sides of the ball. His quick decision making, slashing ability, and consistent shooting make him a dynamic offensive threat while his energy impacts the game defensively as well.

We are excited to see what’s in store for Heath this season with PSB, and what lies ahead for him next year at Lakeridge and beyond.

Keep working, Heath.

Congratulations to Jimmy Keyser on earning Honorable Mention in the Three Rivers League as a Senior at Lake Oswego High School.

Jimmy joined Pro Skills Basketball Portland in 2025 with a goal of becoming a more versatile player. Always known as a knockdown shooter, he expanded his game by becoming an impressive defender and learning the value of running in transition and moving without the ball to create catch-and-shoot opportunities.

His understanding of the game has taken off thanks to his coachability, effort, and commitment to improving.

Jimmy will be running with our 18U squad this season while also continuing to excel on the golf course this spring.

We’re excited to support Jimmy for a few more months on his basketball journey.

Congratulations to Martin Villa on earning 2nd Team All-State honors in the Lewis & Clark Conference as a Senior at Portland Adventist Academy.

Martin is a force on the glass and an enforcer inside, bringing toughness and physicality on the boards while also showing good range as a big. His presence around the rim and ability to control rebounds make him a major impact player on both ends of the floor.

This past year was Martin’s first season with Pro Skills Basketball Portland, and his growth was tremendous. He excelled dramatically and progressed exponentially, continuing to elevate his game throughout the year.

Martin will be playing on our 18U team this season as he continues to gain exposure and pursue opportunities to play at the next level.
