This August—and every month—let’s honor the power of Black giving, leadership, and generosity in creating lasting change. Black philanthropy isn’t just about donations; it’s about investing in communities, amplifying voices, and building a future where equity and dignity thrive for all. This year’s theme, “Many Voices, One Movement,” reminds us that collective action strengthens our impact. Join the movement by supporting Black-led nonprofits, sharing resources, or exploring ways to give back.

It's National Nonprofit Day! And a fun reminder about the best part of our work -- getting to know new nonprofits every day and learning about the hundreds of ways they're making a difference in communities nationwide. Since day one, we've worked to connect companies with outstanding nonprofits, shining a special light on smaller organizations and hidden gems that aren't always considered for corporate funding. To the 1.8M+ nonprofits in the U.S. alone -- THANK YOU for your work and grit and the incredible impact you have on people and places every day. What's your favorite nonprofit?

Today is International Youth Day. The theme this year, “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” reflects on the power of global solidarity and shared dreams. It reminds us that while young people around the world face unique challenges—whether in education, climate action, or economic opportunity—the aspirations for justice, progress, and a sustainable future are universal. This day isn’t just about acknowledging those differences; it’s about celebrating the innovative solutions youth bring to their communities, proving that creativity and determination can bridge even the widest gaps. By standing together, we turn individual struggles into collective strength and transform common challenges into opportunities for change. 🌍✨

The International Day of Friendship on July 30th is a global celebration of the bonds that connect us, reminding us to cherish kindness, empathy, and solidarity across cultures and borders. This year, let’s honor the relationships that inspire hope and resilience by reaching out to someone who makes a difference in your life—whether through a heartfelt conversation, a small act of support, or simply sharing a moment of joy. Together, we can strengthen the ties that unite humanity and build a more compassionate world.

This July, we’re celebrating Disability Pride Month—a time to honor the incredible strength, resilience, and unique perspectives of the disability community. The Changing Lives Together Foundation partners with other organizations and hosts its own events to provide college scholarships, a free summer camp, and other experiences to bring joy. They work to break down barriers and create real accessibility for all. This month, let’s listen, learn, and take action—because inclusion isn’t just a goal, it’s a necessity. Are there people you're celebrating in your life? Share your story!

This month, we welcome 4 new members to our Board of Directors and couldn’t be more thrilled about the dynamic group that supports Simple Generosity behind the scenes: Leo V. Williams III—who named the Ford Expedition—brings visionary leadership shaped by military service; Julie Savaria champions equity and innovation with a love for horses and Legos; Liz Delois connects philanthropy to social justice and might be found gardening or knitting with a dog, cat, and children nearby; Jeni Rone Becker blends strategy, heart and community—and captures Lowcountry sunsets through her photography; Laura Rosa brings a global, purpose-driven lens—and spends time protecting white rhinos in South Africa!; Kristie Cerutti stewards sustainability and regenerative environmental impact and helps lead the B-Corp certified Ancient Nutrition brand; Nashmeen Moslehuddin advances global justice for women and marginalized communities, inspired by childhood travels with her humanitarian father; and Dash Masland combines ocean science with business strategy—currently working in seaweed innovation and enjoying Maine coast adventures with her kids. Laura, Kristie, Nashmeen, and Dash — WELCOME! And Leo, Jeni, Liz, and Julie — THANK YOU for your continued service to this work. We are grateful, humbled, and so excited for our next chapter together!

As the U.S. Men's National Team heads into its 2nd World Cup knock-out game tonight (LET'S GO!!), we have soccer on our minds in more ways than one. Amidst the watch parties and electric energy on and off the field, UNHCR reminds us about the power of the beautiful game to change lives, build community, and fuel resilience -- thank you Darren Sudman for shining a light on UNHCR's Gamechanging Team and the incredible stories of hope and healing behind so many World Cup players.

I have World Cup fever. Living in Philadelphia, it's easy to get caught up in the hype.
