This week is also Housekeeping & Maintenance Staff Appreciation week, and we are so thankful for our team!

The work they do may happen behind the scenes, but its impact is felt every day.

From keeping our spaces clean, comfortable, and welcoming to making sure everything is safe, functional, and running smoothly, our housekeeping and maintenance teams play an essential role in the daily lives of our clients and staff.

Their hard work, attention to detail, reliability, and dedication help create an environment where our clients can feel comfortable, safe, and at home. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do to keep Casa running and looking its best.

It's DSP Appreciation week: Thank You, Direct Support Professionals!

Every day, DSPs make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals they support. Through their kindness, patience, skill, and dedication, they help people achieve their goals, build confidence, navigate challenges, and enjoy meaningful experiences.

At Casa, we are incredibly grateful for our amazing DSPs and the care and support they provide our clients each day. Their work strengthens not only the lives of those they support, but our entire community.

We encourage our friends, families, and community members to join us in thanking the DSPs in your lives. A kind word or simple gesture of appreciation can go a long way in recognizing these incredible individuals and the important work they do.

Casa wishes a warm congratulations to Zoe Graber, an employee at our ICF and recipient of the Julie Altenburg Memorial Scholarship Award.

This scholarship was established in 2003 in memory of Julie Altenburg, a CASA client from 1982 until her passing in 2002. The award was created to encourage and support individuals pursuing careers in nursing.

Since joining CASA's ICF program in 2022 as a CNA, Zoe has demonstrated a remarkable commitment to both her education and the individuals we support. She is currently attending nursing school, participating in a summer internship at a local hospital, and working toward her goal of becoming a registered nurse.

Those who work with Zoe know her as someone who is dependable, compassionate, and always willing to lend a hand. She consistently goes above and beyond for her coworkers and for the individuals entrusted to our care, but what stands out most is the genuine connection she builds with the people she supports. Whether helping with daily activities or sharing her enthusiasm for cars by taking clients to local car shows, Zoe brings kindness, patience, and engagement to everything she does.

Zoe's dedication to nursing, commitment to continued learning, and the care she shows every day truly reflects the spirit and purpose of this scholarship.

On behalf of CASA's Board of Directors, the Altenburg family, and all of us at CASA, congratulations Zoe, on this well-deserved recognition. We are proud of your accomplishments and excited to see all that you will achieve in the years ahead.

Congratulations to Ben Dufour who was selected as Casa's Employee of the Month for July 2026.

Ben has been a DSP at Casa since 2013. Throughout his years of service, he has consistently demonstrated kindness, compassion, and a genuine commitment to both the clients he supports and his coworkers.

Ben is always willing to go above and beyond to help wherever he is needed. Whether it's coming in to troubleshoot issues with the TV or computer, covering medication administration, or assisting clients with whatever they need, he can always be counted on to lend a hand. His willingness to step up without hesitation and his positive, caring attitude make him a valuable member of the Casa team.

Ben's dependability, flexibility, and dedication to improving the lives of others are truly appreciated. His commitment to both his clients and his coworkers reflects Casa's mission and values every day.

We are honored to partner with Westbrook Regional Vocational Center in supporting Career and Technical Education and were grateful to recently receive recognition for that partnership.

Their CNA program prepares students for meaningful and essential roles in our healthcare system, helping to build the next generation of compassionate caregivers. We couldn't be more proud to support such an important program and invest in the future of healthcare in our community.
