Hands On Greater Portland can help. We will connect you with a volunteer opportunity that makes a meaningful, rewarding change in the Portland area. Build a house. Tutor a child. Care for abandoned pets. Build hiking trails. Lead a volunteer group. Join a nonprofit Board. Whether you are working, parenting, in school or retired, Hands On Greater Portland offers you a variety of ways to get involved while meeting your schedule and interests. Volunteer for a one-time project. Volunteer for a few weeks. Volunteer after work or on the weekends. Volunteer alone, with family, friends or co-workers. When you volunteer with Hands On Greater Portland, you join people from all backgrounds and experiences. Four days in, and wow, Portland. 💛

All week, volunteers have shown up across Washington, Multnomah, and Clackamas counties to sort, build, plant, pack, and pitch in wherever neighbors needed a hand. That’s what Community Impact Week is all about, and you’ve made our 5th year one to remember.

Day one of Community Impact Week is in the books, and what a start! 💛

Yesterday, volunteers showed up across the region to prep free food for Centro Cultural, make meals for families at Ronald McDonald House, and pack home-to-hospital kits for families that are experiencing medical hardship, and we're so grateful to every one of you who rolled up your sleeves.

The good news? We're just getting started. With 30+ projects across Washington, Multnomah, and Clackamas counties, there's still plenty of time to jump in today through Saturday. Grab a friend, bring your coworkers, or come solo — every pair of hands makes a difference.

Before the rain rolls in, spend a few hours making a difference close to home. From Oct. 6–10, we're teaming up with over 30 nonprofits to host volunteer projects across Washington, Multnomah, and Clackamas counties.

Whether you've got a morning, an afternoon, or the whole week, there's a project for you. Bring a friend, your coworkers, or the whole family, and help us make our fifth year of Community Impact Week the biggest yet. 💛

Community Impact Week is almost here, and there's still room for you! 🙌

From Oct. 6–10, neighbors across the region are rolling up their sleeves to feed, restore, and connect our community. A few ways to jump in:

🍲 Tue., Oct. 6: Serve hot meals and nourish neighbors at Share in Vancouver
🌱 Wed., Oct. 7: W**d, mulch, and restore native hedgerows at Zenger Farm
✉️ Thurs., Oct. 8: Stuff, stamp, and send festive cards from our downtown Portland HQ
🌲 Sat., Oct. 10: Hike, pull ivy, and restore Tryon Creek's forest

No experience needed, and several projects welcome volunteers as young as 10 with an adult. Grab a friend, bring your family, or sign up your team.

Community Impact Week is back October 6–10, and there's a volunteer project with your name on it. A few we're especially excited about:

🍎 Stock the Free Store for Teachers at Schoolhouse Supplies so local educators start the year with what their classrooms need (Oct 6 & 7, Portland)

📦 Pack food boxes for local families with Sunshine Division. Bring your whole team, there's room for 30! (Oct 7 & 9, Portland)

🍔 Host an end-of-summer BBQ for residents at Transition Projects' Tiny Pod Village (Oct 6, Portland, ages 8+)

👗 Sort professional attire at a Dress for Success fashion sorting party to help women step into their next job with confidence (Oct 8 & 9, Portland)

🌱 Get your hands dirty planting native hedgerows at Zenger Farm or tending the land with Latinos Unidos y Floreciendo, both great for families (Oct 7 & 10, SE Portland and Vancouver)

Looking to add your effort to the over 1.1 million hours of volunteer service Hands On Greater Portland has facilitated? Join us October 6-10 for Community Impact Week!

This wonderful week of volunteerism is in its fifth year, and it's only getting stronger. You can join in on over 30 projects taking place throughout Clark, Clackamas, Multnomah, and Washington counties; from outdoor projects tending farms and treating forest trails, to indoor projects cooking meals and packing care kits, anyone can contribute their effort and expertise.
