This week at the Colorado State Fair, CFB attended the FFA Heifer Wrangle to support our sponsored student, Alden DiCamillo, from the Alamosa FFA Chapter! He raised a show heifer named Bobette, and this was his first time showing cattle.

Getting Bobette ready for showing was no easy task! First, she made her way to the washing area for a nice rinsing. Then, she was blow dried and her fur was primped to perfection. Her casual halter was changed out for a fancier leather and chain halter and they made their way to show pen. Alden and Bobette made the top five in both of their competitions, and the day ended with a posed photo. Congratulations Alden from the Colorado Farm Bureau's Young Farmer and Rancher Program- we hope you'll continue your journey in agriculture in the years to come!

AFBF is hosting a webinar on writing agriculture picture books! They've found that many Farm Bureau members are interested in writing picture books about agriculture, so each year they host a webinar – Picture Book 101. This year it will take place on August 24 at 6 p.m. ET/8 p.m. MT.

Join Publisher Julia Recko from Feeding Minds Press to learn picture book writing basics as well as what Feeding Minds Press is currently looking for in a manuscript. This will be recorded and sent to anyone who registered. It will be available for 2 weeks after the session.
