Four EVs. One convoy. Hundreds of rescue miles. And dogs who were almost forgotten.

This is Operation Frodo EV — a summer extra run built around one simple idea: use quiet, climate-controlled electric vehicles to make long rescue transport less stressful for scared dogs on their way to safety.

Operation Frodo started with one beagle. One dog. One chance. Now, it has grown into a mission that reaches millions of people and helps move dogs from overcrowded shelters toward rescues, fosters, adopters, and the second chances they deserve.

This run included the Cadillac Escalade IQ, Kia EV9, Hyundai IONIQ 9, and Lucid Gravity — but the story is not really about the cars.

It is about Honey.

She was hit by a car, found badly injured, and could barely move. Broken ribs. A fractured pelvis. A damaged leg. A future that looked uncertain. But Honey fought. Volunteers fought for her. And now she is riding west in a convoy built around quiet miles, calm cabins, and people who refused to let her story end on the side of the road.

That is what Operation Frodo does.

It takes the dogs the world almost missed — and helps get them home.

Sweet baby 🌻 has been in foster care for more than 6 weeks, and no one has applied to adopt this precious puppy. We saved her from the cruel streets of South Texas, where she, her mama, and her siblings dodged cars and searched day and night for love, food, safety, and security. It seems no one wants her, her siblings, or even Mama.

Mama is still alone in Texas without her family and desperately needs an East Coast foster.

5 months old • Located in Maryland • Crate trained • Great with dogs and people • Super sweet and gentle • A little shy at first, but warms up quickly.

Today we're spotlighting Trixie! When Trixie first arrived to rescue, she wanted so badly to connect, but she didn’t know how. At first, she couldn’t be touched at all. Within days, this brave little girl started creating her own routine: prancing just out of reach, darting in for a quick pet, then bouncing away to gather her courage again.

And then… something clicked. By mid-April, Trixie began not only accepting pets, but actually asking for them. Watching her learn how to be a dog has been nothing short of magical.

Trixie will need a patient, gentle home where she can continue to build her confidence. She’s the kind of dog who forms a deep, meaningful bond, and the person who earns her trust will get to witness something incredibly special: her full transformation into the loving, confident companion she’s meant to be.

About Trixie:
1–2 years old | ~19 lbs
DNA indicates beagle/lab/chihuahua mix
Gets along well with other bigger dogs, but her strong prey drive means she'll need a home without cats or small dogs
Uses a dog door, potty training coming along nicely
Just starting crate + leash training

Operation Frodo EV started with one beagle named Frodo and one rescue that changed everything.

What began as a drive to save one dog has grown into a cross-country mission run by Animal Rescue Rigs, carrying frightened, forgotten, and broken dogs toward foster homes, adopters, and the lives they should have had all along.

This journey is powered by volunteers, auto journalists, rescue groups, electric vehicles, and the belief that no dog should be left behind.

Honey is one of those dogs. Hit by a car and left unable to move, she is now healing, running, playing, and heading toward a new home because strangers refused to let her story end on the side of the road.

Urgent Rescue Transport Help Needed: Isaac, a young Rottweiler puppy, has been on a leg-to-leg volunteer transport from Ohio to Rottweiler Rescue in Portland. He is supposed to arrive 8:15pm-ish in Portland Monday night, but the driver for the Biggs Junction, OR to Portland, OR leg has just dropped out.

He needs a ride Monday evening (TOMORROW) from Biggs Junction, OR to Portland, OR. He has his own crate that he’s traveling in, and he's a sweet little guy.

Is there someone available to meet at 5:30pm in Biggs Junction tomorrow to drive this sweet boy? It’s approx 1.5 hrs. We haven't secured a vehicle to do this, and it might be too short notice to get one, so you may have to use your own vehicle. We'll clearly pay for gas in any expenses.
