🍦 It’s almost time for one of our favorite Tumwater traditions!

Join us on Thursday, August 20th for our Annual Ice Cream Social! 🎉 Come reconnect with friends, meet new families, enjoy a sweet treat from Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, meet our amazing Tumwater staff, and take a self-guided tour of the school before the first day!

🚗 Parking is limited, so if you can, please carpool, walk, or bike to help keep things running smoothly.

To help with parking and lines, please arrive based on your student’s last name:

🕕 A–G: 6:00–6:30 PM
🕡 H–O: 6:45–7:15 PM
🕢 P–Z: 7:30–8:00 PM

We can’t wait to welcome everyone back for a fun evening of ice cream, familiar faces, new connections, and the start of another amazing school year! 💙🍦

Can you believe school starts in just 3 weeks?! 🎒🍎

If you’re planning to volunteer at Tumwater this year, make sure your Raptor volunteer approval is ready to go!

✅ New volunteer? Submit your BSD volunteer application using the link in our bio.

✅ Already approved in Summer 2024? Your approval is valid for two years, so you should receive an email from Raptor with instructions to renew. Be sure to complete it as soon as you can!

Getting approved now means you’ll be all set to jump in and help with classroom activities, school events, field trips, and more from day one.

Let’s get everything checked off now so we’re ready for an amazing school year! 💙🌊

⭐ August 25 – First Day for 6th Grade
🎒 August 26 – First Day for All Students
☕ August 26 – Parent Welcome Coffee | 10:00–11:00 AM

We’re currently seeking volunteers to fill the following PTO Board positions:
• Secretary/Communications
• Co-Treasurer

🎉 Volunteer Opportunity: 8th Grade Celebration 🎉

We’re still in need of volunteers for the 8th Grade Celebration on Wednesday, June 10th from 12:15–3:45 PM.
We have lots of fun activity stations that need volunteers to help run them, plus set-up help on June 9th. Your support helps make this a memorable day for our students!
✨ Especially looking for someone who can teach or help with origami!

✨ 3rd Co–Art Lit – Our amazing Art Lit team will be leaving TMS in 2027 and is looking for someone to join them this year, learn the ropes, and step into the role the following year.
🍦 Welcome Events – Help coordinate our August Ice Cream Social and Parent Welcome Coffees alongside the school
🎉 8th Grade Celebration – Lead the planning and ex*****on of this special event with the Assistant Principal and a team of volunteers

As a PTO, we love supporting our students, staff, and school community—and we’re already looking ahead to next year! We’re inviting parents and guardians to consider joining our PTO Board for the upcoming school year.

✨ Open Board Positions:
• Secretary – Records meeting minutes and helps oversee PTO communication, including our website and social media
• Co-Volunteer Coordinator – Partners with our Volunteer Coordinator to connect school staff with volunteers
