Hands of Hope Food Pantry - Portland, TN Hands of Hope Food Pantry operates as a free grocery store for people who reside in Sumner County, Tennessee. We are located at 101C S.

If you are facing food insecurity, we are here to help. Russell Street, Portland, Tennessee. Hands of Hope Food Pantry is a 501(c)3 charitable organization. Our facility is setup like a grocery store where people can come in every other week to shop for items for their family. We are open for shopping three days a week - Tuesdays 9-12, Thursdays 9-12 and Saturdays 9-12. We serve over 500 families

per month. During the summer we provide lunches for children on Saturday. We provide five breakfasts and lunches per child every week.

We start tomorrow - rain or shine! The drive thru distribution line begins at 9am at Portland High School. Please enter from the College Street entrance. We will start distributing summer meals for kids at 9am and will end at 11:30am. We will do this weekly on Saturday through July 25 (except we will serve on Friday, July 3 instead of July 4). Children do not have to be present. Onsite registration required - parent/guardian name and address, children name, grade just completed, school just attended and birth date need to be listed on the registration form. Please be patient as we kick off another great summer of meals!

Thanks again to our two main sponsors - YMCA & Shoals Technologies Group as well as our core volunteer group from Portland General Baptist Church. We will have other volunteer individuals and groups assist during the summer as well. We are a blessed community!

This is a friendly reminder to all the scholars in the Tennessee Promise scholarship program - be mindful of your required community service hour deadlines! 📝 We love to have you at the pantry and we have 4 opportunities a week for you to sign up and volunteer time with us. Links to sign up are in the comments, on our website and also pinned to the top of this page. We encourage you to sign up early to get your desired spot and if for some reason you can't attend on a day that you have signed up for, please cancel so someone else can have your spot. We have plenty of opportunities so plan ahead and you'll fulfill your requirements with no problem 🤩 We look forward to seeing you this summer! ☀️

Shoals Technologies Group had a ribbon cutting at their new “Mega Shoals” facility this morning. We are overwhelmed at their commitment to the Portland community and especially their generous commitment to us! Thank you for a $20,000 donation that helps fund our summer meal program (which kicks off this Saturday!), holiday meals and a new program later this year - winter meals for kids during the Christmas/New Year break. We enjoyed the morning touring the new facility and meeting so many Shoals team members that believe in what we’re doing to feed our community. 💜 Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Summer break is upon us and so is our Hope for Kids Summer Meal program! We've got your kids covered this summer with breakfast and lunch items distributed each week at Portland High School from 9 to 11:30am. There is no sign up required but there will be a quick on site registration each week. Children do not have to be present for pick up. This is a drive thru line so look for the signs each week for where to pull through and pick up for your family.
