Civility. Right behavior. The Golden Rule. All societies need these essential elements to function harmoniously. The Bible leads us directly toward these qualities and behaviors. “Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32. This week’s Christian Science Bible Lesson goes to the heart of the matter in revealing the all power of God, divine Love, and exposing the nothingness of evil. “There is no power apart from God. The supremacy of Spirit was the foundation on which Jesus built. Christ is the true idea voicing good, the divine message from God to men speaking to the human consciousness. Resisting evil, you overcome it and prove its nothingness.” “The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.” II Corinthians 10:4,5

Explore these ideas by studying this week’s Bible Lesson at the Christian Science Reading Room, 14 SW Nye St in Newport, open Monday through Thursday 11:30 to 1:30 pm, or hear it read aloud Sunday mornings at church services at 10 am at Christian Science Society at the same location. You will be inspired by what you learn. The Lesson is based on thoughtfully selected passages from the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. Everyone is welcome.
