Dear Sri Lankans, SLAO has received an appeal letter from Prof. L.R.A.K. Bandara, Head of the Department of Physics at University of Peradeniya, with a request for help in obtaining several spectrometers used in laboratory teaching. The request is for 4 Spectrometers produced by Pasco in order to supplement a severe shortage they are experiencing at the department. SLAO will be undertaking this project and is currently raising funds and hope to purchase the spectrometers in the coming weeks. Thushan Wickramasinghe and Shavindra Premaratne will be coordinating this as Liaisons between University of Peradeniya and SLAO, including coordinating shipping through a generous donor.
