We are especially looking for folks who want to MARCH WITH US in the Portland Pride parade! Reach out here, or via our website for more details!

We owe pride to trans women. We owe pride to our LGBTQ+ elders and ancestors. We owe pride to all who put their lives on the line for q***r liberation.

PRIDE update: the Saco-Biddeford Pride event that we were planning to join on May 30/31 is being rescheduled to August 1st. So our first Pride event of the season will be Sunday June 7 at Great Falls Pride - Lewiston Auburn Maine. It'll be the PFLAG Portland Chapter's first time at this event, so please come say hello! (You can also catch the new PFLAG Brunswick-Midcoast Chapter who will be at Central Maine Pride on Saturday June 6 in Waterville). Of course, if anyone wants to MARCH WITH US in the Pride Portland Parade on Saturday June 20, you are quite welcome!

I am so glad to share this GOOD NEWS that the anti-trans ballot referendum didn't get enough valid petition signatures to make it onto the ballot! Still a possible appeal opportunity, but this is a fabulous win!

Still preliminary / not yet final...but the Secretary of State's office has determined that the anti-trans referendum did not get enough signatures to be included on the November ballot! HUGE kudos to those families who filed the lawsuit necessary to challenge the earlier determination!

This Friday, come out to celebrate book launch by TransPoetics Archive at Mechanics Hall, Portland. You know them from some of their poetry at our TDOR event, and a great, joyful poetry play at our potluck this past weekend!

A hearing before the Secretary of State was held yesterday to determine whether additional signatures should be disqualified. We should know by the end of the month whether sufficient signatures were disqualified to keep the anti-trans measure off the November ballot in Maine.
