The State of Maine's Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) has been working to develop a state plan for how they will implement this law. Many stakeholders including youth and parents have been involved in learning more about Family First and have provided input in the planning process.

Four years ago today, our parents and students presented our parent and community engagement Manifesto to the Portland Scool Board, that was the first time for most of our parents and students. That night led to our collaboration with the district to rewrite the family engagement policy.
The manifesto is the blueprint to ( Shared Space cafe ) our tested dialogue model between governments and non/limited English speaking communities. to learn more about our work, go to www.portlandempowered.org.
