In recognition of National Engineers Week, we are showcasing a few of our engineers, all of whom play a critical role in the success of our projects and operations.

Working for a construction company during his college internship sparked Thomas (Tom) Senior, a Maine Maritime Academy graduate, to join the Cianbro team.

Eight years later, you will find Tom working at the Ticonic Bridge replacement project in Waterville, Maine, as a senior project engineer. Having grown up nearby, Tom finds this project close to home to be extra special. Standing beside two 50-ton gantry cranes that will be used throughout the project, Tom stares up in awe and says, “It’s pretty incredible. The size and complexity of the work we do always makes things interesting. The innovative approach to use the gantry crane and truss system was a spectacular concept developed by the Cianbro team. Working with our in-house design team and knowing that we designed this project for this very purpose is exactly why being an engineer is so rewarding.”

If you are also an engineer who is fascinated with innovative, large projects, visit www.cianbro.com to see what opportunities await you today!

At WSP, more than a century of experience has taught us the value of reimagining what’s possible. From our pioneering work on the original New York City subway to the nation’s first all-electric hospital, set to open in 2025, we partner with our clients to conceive projects that challenge how things have always been done, drawing on catalytic moments from our past to help inform a brighter future.

This , we’re celebrating the people and projects helping our communities prepare today for a world that will look and feel substantially different tomorrow.

It’s time to break through to innovation. https://www.wsp.com/en-us/campaigns/break-through-to-future-ready
