What an incredible turnout for the grand opening of Kafoury Court! Despite the wind and rain, more than 250 guests filled the space to celebrate this exciting new development. We’re proud to honor its namesake, Ernest Warren Jr., and grateful to everyone who joined us for this special moment.

The weather tried, but it did not succeed. So much gratitude to the more than 100 people that showed up and showered us with love over the grand opening of the beautiful building now known as the Ernest E. Warren Jr. @ Kafoury Court!

It was a wonderful day filled with celebration, thanks and laughter. A special thank you to , , County Commissioner Shannon Singleton, and all the amazing individuals that came representing the Governor, Senators, Mayor and the City of Portland. We were so honored to host each of you.

Today is the day. We will be celebrating the grand opening of Kafoury Court at 11am. We are so excited to open the doors to this beautiful building for the community, and we can't wait to share it with all of you.

We are excited to welcome the 503 Portland Sliders to the Kafoury Court Grand Opening tomorrow. The Portland 503 Sliders are a lively group of dancers who love music, dancing, and connection. Whether it’s R&B, hip-hop, or soul, they move in sync to the beat — one line, one vibe. The group welcomes dancers of all skill levels, from beginners learning their first steps to seasoned pros who can turn any floor into a party. They focus on fun, fitness, and community, all while keeping the spirit of dance alive and have been together for 15 years.

We look forward to watching them do their thing tomorrow!

It’s finally here! The week of the Kafoury Court Grand Opening is upon us. Final touches on this gorgeous building are being put into place and we are preparing to celebrate with our community and with the organizations that helped get us across the finish line. This has truly been a project of perseverance and love and we can’t wait to share it with each of you.

This year marks their 50th season of dedication to dance, community and performance. We are hiring a Resident Services Coordinator. As a RSC you will provide support to residents living in multi-family apartment buildings and other PCRI affordable housing sites. You will work with housing case managers, property manager and the Director of the department to encourage self-sufficiency among the residents and create programs that help them to succeed. This position requires a motivated and resourceful individual who is empathetic to other's needs, is highly organized, loves team building and group facilitation and can thrive in an independent environment with a multidisciplinary team.

On World Homelessness Day, we recognize that homelessness is deeply tied to the legacy of systemic racism, redlining, and displacement that have shaped our neighborhoods.

At PCRI, we work every day to preserve and build affordable homes, create pathways to generational wealth, and ensure that Black Portlanders are not priced out of the communities we grew up in and we helped build.

Housing justice is racial justice.

And a stable home is the first step towards generational wealth.

We are looking for a Housing Development Asset Manager. In this role you will work on low-income housing development (LIHTC), analyze feasibility, development and funding cycles and work with other community organizations critical to the development process. You need to have the ability to prepare and file funding applications and assist with asset management responsibilities and reporting. If you're the type of person that loves developing budgets and tracking projects to completion, then this might just be the role for you.

PCRI invites you to join us as we celebrate the grand opening at Kafoury Court. This new Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) development will provide 40 units of one bedroom and studio apartment living for qualified residents, ensuring everyone has a place to call home.

Welcome to Urban October.
Never heard of it? You're not alone.

Urban October was created by the United Nations as a way for everyone around the world to engage in conversation about the fast rate of change in our communities—specifically in urban spaces.

The month begins with World Habitat Day on October 6. This day is set aside to recognize every person’s basic right to sustainable shelter as well as address and eradicate the causes of poverty housing.

During the month, the UN presents the Scroll of Honour to five individuals from around the world. This prestigious award recognizes initiatives that have made outstanding contributions to improving the challenges faced by people living in urban settings. This year, 4 of the 5 recipients presented solutions centered on sustainable housing.

Housing is a clear, and present, danger in our society. PRCI is working every day to address the core issues that prevent families and individuals from building generational wealth.

PCRI will be celebrating Urban October with the grand opening of Kafoury Court. This gorgeous 40-unit Permanent Supportive Housing development will provide affordable housing to qualified community members that have struggled with homelessness. A fitting shoutout to a month focused on addressing and eradicating poverty housing!
