The Trans Wardrobe Project is a startup nonprofit that curates free, affirming wardrobes for trans people using community-based clothing donations.

This year we presented a runway and I just could not stop smiling from all the joy. Thank you Keegan (our most handsome board member and DJ), , everyone who donated time or clothing, our models, .center for housing our operations, and all our models who worked the runway. It took allot for this moment to come together and wow was it a beautiful night to be apart of. Looking forward to the next ones 🏳️‍⚧️❤️‍🔥 🏳️‍⚧️

Hey Ya’ll! Come join us at on Saturday the 25th for a Halloween dance party & drag show!

The lovely folks hosting this event offered to collect clothing donations for us at the event and we couldn’t resist 💕

We still have a general hold on donation collections as we sort through the thousands and thousands of items y’all have generously donated to us, but we are happy to partake in this little donation pop up and reconnect with ya’ll!

We are still hard at work and we’re aiming to start serving our first wardrobe recipients in the coming months. We are endlessly grateful for your patience & support!

We are so grateful to PDXpelliarmus - Harry Potter Activists for raising funds for us! This was such a lovely surprise, as we didn’t even know they were doing this good work for us. (And they’ve raised funds for us in the past!) ♥️

Our newly formed board has been working hard behind the scenes to prepare for the next big step—bringing in volunteers to help us clean and prep our massive wardrobe! This is no small task, but we’re so excited to finally move forward, and these funds will help us do just that!

🌈 Volunteer Opportunity with The Trans Wardrobe Project 🌈

It has been a long time coming but we’re finally looking for amazing volunteers to help us with laundry at the Marie Equi Institute here in Portland! 🧺✨

Not only will you be helping us provide clean, gender-affirming clothing to our community, but while the loads are cycling you’ll also get to enjoy:

🛋️ Relaxing in Equi’s cozy lounge
🍴A break in their kitchen for snacks or meals
🎨 Getting creative in their art area (supplies provided!)
👥Connecting with community in a safe space 
💻 Bringing your laptop to catch up on work or personal projects

Important Details:
🟠 Volunteers must complete an orientation. 
😷 At the Marie Equi Institute Masks are required to keep everyone safe.

We need your help to keep The Trans Wardrobe Project alive.

This isn’t the update we wanted to share, but we believe in being transparent with you. We’re at a crossroads. Our dream of creating trans joy through free curated wardrobes is still alive, but without more support, we’re closer to the end than the beginning.

This project started with an idea in Florida, where I found myself with a huge influx of clothing donations but nowhere to ensure they reached trans folks in need. When I couldn’t find an organization doing this work, I decided to create it myself.

When we brought The Trans Wardrobe Project to Portland, the response was overwhelming. Clothing donations poured in faster than we could manage, and we paused pickups to focus on funding. But securing that funding has been harder than we anticipated.

Over the past year, we’ve received donations from 35 incredible people—thank you to those who gave. But it simply hasn’t been enough to move forward. Grants, too, have been out of reach as our work isn’t deemed a ‘necessity’ by many funders.

Now, we’re turning to you, our community, for help. If every person reading this gave just $1, $2, or $3, it could make the difference. Your donation doesn’t have to be big to make a big impact—it would allow us to keep working on securing larger grants to bring us forward.

We know so many of you believe in our mission. You’ve given us your clothes and your support because you believe in creating trans joy and free gender-affirming care. Together, we can still make this dream a reality.

Your support means the world to us. Thank you for believing in us, for donating, and for sharing our vision. We will keep fighting for trans joy as long as we can.
