Empowering families by providing the tools, skills, and resources necessary for self sufficient economic and social development. A house, a home, a family is a village is history in the making. Our mission remains the same as that in 1998 when we started the Friends of Honduras project, based in Portland, Oregon. Our focus is being in solidarity with Hondurans. By working with Hondurans in a commu

nity led approach to identify their own needs, we can provide an exchange of necessary resources and labor while sharing culture and knowledge with one another. Our goal is to create resiliency and help communities to organize themselves and become self-sufficient.

Happy Thanksgiving! We’re thankful for the opportunities we’ve had to work with families in Honduras, we’re thankful for our volunteers and donors, and to everyone who has come together to build homes and community. While we all reflect on appreciation and gratitude, we’d like to invite you to visit our new website and have your involvement in Friends of Honduras.
