At Maine Lightning Soccer Club, our mission is to create a positive, family-friendly environment where every player has the opportunity to learn, develop, compete, and enjoy the game. Our main goal remains consistent across all sports: To produce a family friendly environment in which all players can learn, develop, compete, and have fun. We formed a club to make a difference; not to make a living

We offer a multi-sport club for both multi-sport athletes & singularly focused athletes

We have a proven staff of high school coaches & college coaches from all over Southern Maine who are coaching to give back to our communities and to the game we love

Our coaches will only be a head coach of one team and be fully committed to that team

We will work with town programs to limit conflicts & work with families to limit travel, especially prior to high school

We will also offer choices for teams based on their needs - those choices do include access to out of state leagues & tournaments in addition to college exposure events in & out of Maine. We will offer training at multiple levels for athletes ages six to nineteen & have access to Edge Academy opportunities that include SAQ training, strength training, college counseling & connections, & more!

Good luck to everyone participating in club soccer tryouts! Here are a few things to remember when trying out for a club team. ⚽️

1) HAVE FUN & show your personality!

2)Ask any club program questions you may have.

3)Don’t feel pressured to accept an offer right away. Explore all your options to see what fits your family and players needs/development best.

4)Keep playing soccer and continue to love the game that brings us all together!

We’re proud to announce our 2026–2027 Maine Lightning coaching staff! A group of passionate educators, mentors, former players, and experienced coaches dedicated to developing players both on and off the field. Our staff represents communities and programs from all across Maine, bringing together experience from local high schools and colleges. From state championships and collegiate playing careers to Coach of the Year honors and lots of premier club experience, our staff brings an unmatched level of passion, knowledge, and commitment to player development.

Most importantly, they care deeply about creating a positive, competitive, and family-focused environment where players can grow, compete, and love the game.
