Porterville Gleaners started something called the Jolene Project and what it does is goes out and cleans and mows the yards of elderly. We were already overwhelmed with many needing help but now after the storm we have an over abundance of calls flooding in. We need any help we can get to help our elderly. The Jolene Project does not charge the elderly we just go do it free of charge. Anyone with time or wants to fund dump hauls or equipment please call Gleaners or pm me. We mostly need volunteers!!!!

It’s been a long while since we have made any posts or updates to the Gleaners page so today we are taking some time to update everyone.

We have been very busy cleaning and going through things and throwing out many things that we should not have at our facility.

Please be patient with us because we are also training special needs helpers as we do this and sometimes a few things slip by us.

All in all the facility is starting to look great due to a great team of people working very hard every day. When you stop in please tell all the volunteers thank you for their hard work because they really have done an exceptional job.

Thank you Fred Beltran, Jack Varnell, Gayla Salim, Vickie Ingrum, all the helpers from C-Set, Employability, and the Rescue Mission. These volunteers and helpers are not just there 2 or 3 hours a week, they are there anywhere from 16 to 40+ hours a week. They are definitely overworked and underpaid as I stated before VOLUNTEERS. That’s you PACC for sharing Fred Beltran with us during this transition time, Gleaners needed and needs his assistance.

We have new store hours
Sunday and Monday we are closed for a cleaning
Tuesday and Wednesday (Memebers only)
Thurs -Saturday 10:00am - 4:00 pm public hours.
