Frodo was on a long road to recovery after his surgery. We found 2 abnormal growths that grew on his little 'nub'. We got them removed early in May. Unfortunately, due to the location and being an amputation site, it has really hard to heal. The vet we went to for his surgery also didn't use inside sutures, which may have helped to keep the incision closed.
We found ourselves at V.E.G (veterinary emergency group) one evening with popped stitches, they stapled the center of his incision site where the stitches popped. A couple days later, the outside stitches opened and we found ourselves getting more staples, this time with the vet that did his surgery. After that, the center incision site started re-opening. Finding bandages that stayed on the site to make sure it stayed clean (Frodo is incontinent) was a nightmare too. Nothing quite stuck right. The antibiotics Frodo was on also gave him diarrhea. Jamie was getting scared that it would never heal.
Then, thanks to Frodo's regular veterinary office (PetVet365π), he healed. They cleaned him up GOOD, inside sutures, outside stitches, staples and medical glue for him. They also gave us the best advice on keeping him in a small crate for rest and meds to make him sleepy, an antibiotic shot that was safer on his tummy, anti diarrhea meds & food, a bandage and tape system that worked wonders and now our sweet baby boy is all healed, grateful and happy, happy, happy again. π₯Ήπ
Huge shoutout to Dr Theodore and Techs Courtney and Katie. Thanks for healing our sweet boy and keeping Momma Jamie sane π€£πππ. We love you guys and thanks for EVERYTHING you do for our animals at Wishbone's. πΎ
