The team had a busy weekend, beginning with providing aid station coverage during the memorial service for Randy Bates. Randy was a tremendous supporter of our team and the community over the years, so we were proud to have the opportunity to give back, even in a small way, by providing medical support to his friends and family throughout the event.

The day concluded with only a few minor heat-related incidents. We also responded to a motor vehicle accident in the parking area, where the RIT assessed the driver for potential injuries.

On Sunday, several members volunteered for additional advanced navigation training. The training covered a variety of essential land navigation techniques, including intersection and resection, single-line resection, attack points, and travel plans. The points were established in a manner that required participants to utilize most of their available land navigation tools and skills to accurately navigate to and locate the designated waypoint markers.

Great job by everyone who participated and contributed throughout the weekend!

K9 training followed where the team helped each other achieve their training goals.

Today we were invited to the first of many PA State Police Sunny Day Camp (SDC). We enjoy talking to members of the community and seeing their faces brighten with smiles meeting the team and our K9s, and learning about what we do if someone goes missing.

Pros and cons of different extraction/extrication methods was covered, what to look out for (patient injury wise) with each method, importance of patient assessment and relaying that info to the RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) so the correct equipment is selected and brought to the scene.
