Just a 5 months ago… we were only 4 people with an idea.
Not knowing how far it could go, but with a strong desire to try.

Today, we are more than 25 active members, people who show up day after day, putting their time, energy, and heart into something that already feels like home 💚

Este post es para quienes estuvieron en el corazón de todo, para quienes no solo hicieron posible el Festival Romántico 2026, sino que lo hicieron suyo.

Primero, gracias a Geni Flores, por guiarnos en el proceso y, sobre todo, por convertirse en parte del equipo. No fuiste solo apoyo… fuiste una más, en cada paso, en cada decisión y en cada momento importante.

También queremos agradecer profundamente a nuestro advisor, el Dr. Eduardo Díaz—o simplemente Eduardo, para quienes tenemos la suerte de conocerlo más de cerca—por encargarse de una de las partes más importantes: la económica. Porque sin estructura, no hay continuidad, y gracias a ti, este festival no termina aquí.

Pero hay personas que dejan huella… y luego está Yitzen Lizama Peraza.

Gracias, Maestra y futura Doctora, por absolutamente todo. Desde el primer momento estuviste al lado del equipo ejecutivo, apoyando como nadie, dando tiempo, energía, recursos… pero sobre todo, corazón. Porque sí, este club también lleva un pedacito de ti. Tu compromiso, tu entrega y tu forma de creer en nosotros hicieron una diferencia muy importante. Si alguien merece un gracias especial, eres tú.

A todos los miembros que en algún momento formaron parte de este proceso y ayudaron a que esta gran vuelta del festival fuera posible—Emiliano, Jorge, Pamela, Thomas, Nico, Angelina, Bryanna, Camila, Chama, Bryan, Juana, las dos Cristinas, Kai, Navella, Adan, Mildred y su hermana, Luisiana, Bei, Jona, Carlos, Julieta, Marytzza—gracias por sumar, por aportar y por dejar su huella en algo que hoy vuelve a brillar.

Y por último, pero no menos importante, nuestra vicepresidenta: María.

Has sido toda una guerrera, siempre presente, siempre dispuesta a ayudar, incluso en los momentos más complicados. Especialmente, gracias por ayudar a mantener viva la ilusión de más de 250 estudiantes de high school y por creer en este proyecto cuando más lo necesitaba. Tu trabajo ha sido clave en esta nueva etapa del club.

Este festival no solo fue un evento, sino también un paso importante en la reconstrucción y crecimiento del club.

We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to all the distinguished guests who joined us—whether in person or online—and helped make the Festival Romanico 2026 even more meaningful with their presence.

A special thank you to Consul Víctor Esponda, representing the Mexican Consulate, for his attendance and continued support of our community and cultural initiatives.

We are also incredibly grateful to Dr. Johnson, the University President, who opened the event with a speech in Spanish, even though it is not his native language. His effort and dedication truly set the tone for the evening and reflected the spirit of inclusion and appreciation that defines this festival.

Finally, we would like to thank the Spanish Secretary of Education for joining us virtually. Your participation, even from afar, meant a great deal to us and highlighted the importance of cultural and educational connections that go beyond borders.

To all of you who took the time to be part of this event, thank you for celebrating with us and for helping create a special, unforgettable experience. ✨

Today, we want to take a moment to express our gratitude to all the people and teams who made the Romantic Festival 2026 possible. This event would not have been the same without your support, commitment, and dedication.

First, we would like to sincerely thank Campus Life, especially Rey Coss and Linda Ramos, for their time, patience, and guidance from the very beginning. We came in with many ideas but also a lot of uncertainty, and thanks to them, we were able to better understand how everything worked. Their support was essential, especially when it came to solving the sound issue during the event—without them, we would not have been able to continue.

We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Hispanics Affairs, especially Dayanara Fermín and Ezequiel Barraza, who supported us both the day before and during the event with great dedication and willingness to help. We also want to recognize Ross Barbosa, who, although only able to join us on the day of the festival, played an important role in ensuring everything ran smoothly. In addition, we appreciate the great work of Donovan and Ashanti Strachan, who helped organize everything the day before and continued supporting us throughout the event.

We would also like to thank Production Services for their outstanding work with printing and logistical support, always delivering on time and with excellent quality. A special mention goes to Jorge Aldavaz, who not only handled this area but also provided crucial support with sound and visuals during the event.

Finally, we thank Creative Services for covering the event and capturing every moment through photos and videos, allowing us to relive this special experience.

El Spanish Club te invita a conocer a Dr. Alberto Rojo, un increíble invitado desde Argentina 🇦🇷 que viene a compartir su experiencia de una manera única, relajada y súper interesante. No es una conferencia aburrida — es una conversación donde podrás aprender, preguntar y pasar un buen rato.
