Another day we get to bless others at Joppa’s food bank. We can never thank our volunteers enough. We receive food and place the pallets on Wednesday, pack food for distribution on Friday and distribute it to those who drive up on 3rd Saturday from 9-11a or when all food is distributed.

We had a fun day with our HIS HOUSE ladies making blankets and eating chili over potatoes. We can never repay them for all their help with the food bank, but we can have fun trying. We are blessed!

Joppa was founded in 1991 in an attempt as a community outreach to meet the needs of the Portal Community. We have sponsored mission trips to Honduras, given bicycles to their children and locals, Bible studies, share groups, after school programs, provided temporary living arrangements for those in need, soup kitchen, veteran’s breakfast, widow’s luncheon. Our main outreach at present is a food bank. We donate Bibles and have a prayer team available to those who request a need. Our team meets after the food bank to pray for those who submitted a need. Our functions are funded by donations. Our food is purchased from America’s Second Harvest. The food at each distribution is $850 which is food only. There are additional operating expenses. Our desire is to assure that we have means to continue blessing those who have need of food.
