Two years ago (!), one of our community members sent a FOIA request to the US Forest Service after learning that they had submitted comments critical of the Air Force proposal for greatly increased training in Arizona and New Mexico.

The Army has graduated more than 250 soldiers in the newest Military Occupational Specialties, or MOS, training course at Fort Huachuca, Arizona to be the new 15X tactical unmanned aircraft system specialists.

Military contractor aircraft equipped with high-end surveillance gear have been flying along the southern border over Arizona and New Mexico.

These planes are equipped with a DRT 3300 “dirtbox,” equipment that mimics a cell phone tower and can track cell phones and reportedly can even intercept messages.

DHS says neither ICE nor CBP were flying with Metrea along the border. DHS did not respond to questions about whether the aircraft were supporting a mission by the DHS or the DOD (which could constitute illegal surveillance).
