As we like to say you are who you surround yourself with! Over the years we’ve had the opportunity to learn from some of the best to do it. Year after year Jax Forrest would take the time to give back to a sport that has given him so much.

What’s great to see is the same things he was teaching the kids, are the same things he’s doing on the mat at the highest level.

Congratulations on an amazing run. The future is bright in Stillwater, and keep making a difference in the lives of those you’ve impacted over the years.

🚨 Exciting Announcement 🚨

Apex Wrestling is excited to introduce a new training opportunity this spring — our WAAAM Session.

This program is perfect for wrestlers who want to take a short break after the high school season and wait until freestyle season to get back on the mats, while still staying sharp and preparing to compete.

Starting Tuesday, March 17, practices will run:
Tuesdays & Thursdays | 3:30 – 5:00 PM

This session is geared toward experienced wrestlers who are looking to compete in this year’s WAAAM tournaments.

What is WAAAM?
WAAAM is a developmental wrestling league focused on providing quality mat time in an efficient format. Competitions take place Saturday mornings from 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM, and in most cases each wrestler gets about five matches during that window.

It’s a great way to get matches and continue developing without spending your entire weekend at a tournament.

Cost: $60 per wrestler, which includes the $20 WAAAM membership fee.

When we sat down to plan out our programming back in 2019, I was asked how do we know if we’ll be successful.

I fondly remember saying ask me that question in 8-10 years. As we approach that eight year mark I can say without a shadow of a doubt that our programming has made a difference.

Our original group now boasts multiple conference championships, conference finalists and place winners. On top of that our first group of high school freshman placed in their conference meet and we even had one make their respective conference finals.

Wrestling is a journey and the success these young men have achieved is a direct result of the work that they’ve put in. Years of setbacks and losses did not stop them from showing up, trusting in our process, and knowing that their time will come.

Stay the course, chase mastery, and be grateful for the person you become during your journey. It will go fast so take it day by day and enjoy the ride.

Best of luck this championship season and leave it all on the mat.

Awesome snow day effort! A huge shoutout to all of the kids that showed up and put in the work.

They made a decision to get better, and it’s that mindset that will separate them from their competitors in the weeks, and months ahead.

Apex Wrestling Academy was the place to be for SW Michigan wrestling this afternoon, and stay tuned for exciting annoucements in the coming months.

Today was only the beginning.
