Troop and Family Support

A sudden emergency can place an enormous burden on a military or veteran family.

The American Legion’s Troop and Family Support connects servicemembers, veterans and their families with local assistance and resources during challenging times.

Support may begin with something as simple as transportation, household help, a meal or connecting a family with the right organization.

No military family should face hardship alone.

Wisconsin American Legion All-Star Game

Today, 48 outstanding high school baseball players from across Wisconsin will take the field at American Family Field for the Wisconsin American Legion All-Star Game!

The game will begin following the Milwaukee Brewers game. Parking and admission are free after the eighth inning.

Come support these talented young athletes and celebrate one of the Wisconsin American Legion’s exceptional youth programs.

American Legion Baseball has helped young athletes develop sportsmanship, citizenship, teamwork and leadership for generations.

Wisconsin’s players, coaches, volunteers, families and sponsoring Posts make this outstanding program possible.

Don't forget about the All-Star game coming up on Sunday, August 9th after the Brewers game! Free admission and free parking after the completion of the Brewers game. Limited concessions will be available.

Buddy Checks

Sometimes the most important act of service begins with a phone call.

The American Legion’s Buddy Check program encourages members to contact veterans in their communities, ask how they are doing and connect them with assistance when needed.

Take a few minutes today to call a veteran, military family member or friend. Listen, reconnect and remind them that they are not alone.

Since August 4, 1790, Coast Guard members have protected our waterways, defended our nation, conducted lifesaving missions and answered the call during emergencies.

Today, we honor all Coast Guard members—past and present—for their courage, dedication and service.

The Wisconsin American Legion Law Enforcement Career Academy was held July 6-10 at the Wisconsin State Patrol Academy at Ft. McCoy. Thank you to sponsors, staff and volunteers who made our 2026 academy a success. Applications for the 2027 academy will be available on wilegion.org in January 2027.

Department Convention activities start today! The Be The One 2.2 mile walk will start at the Hilton Paper Valley, then move to the Fox City mall due to the heat.

Foundation meeting starts at 3pm followed by Membership at 5pm.
