Wisconsin American Legion We're a nonpartisan veterans organization made up of veterans whose only mission is to serve other veterans.

The American Legion was founded on the premise that all who serve in the United States Armed Forces during times of National crisis are eligible for membership.

Sign up for a coach bus leaving from Wisconsin American Legion Headquarters in Portage on Friday, August 28 @8:00am, returning Thursday, September 3 @10:00am. Leave your personal vehicle at Legion Headquarters.
Relax, visit with friends, no driving or parking worries for your trip.
Cost: $300 per person/round trip

The 89th Annual High School Oratorical Regional and Finals Contests were held at Ripon College on Saturday, March 28. We had 12 outstanding contestants. Stephen Bott representing the First District won and will represent The American Legion Department of Wisconsin at the National Oratorical Contest at Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan in May. Congratulations to all of the contestants and a big thank you to all of our volunteers. 1st photo is Oratorical Chair Robert Stone, SAL Detachment Commander Chris Dannenmann, 2nd place winner Grant Kuberski who represented the 3rd District, Winner Stephen Bott, 3rd place Jillian Trzebiatowski who represented the 8th District, Auxiliary President Sue Hembrook and Department Commander Nathan Bond. 2nd photo is Oratorical Chair Robert Stone with Stephen Bott.

The Americanism and Government test is currently open! Wisconsin High Schools have been sent this flyer to offer it to their students. The test link will be open through March 13. The test is open 24/7 during this testing window. Please share with any 10th, 11th or 12th grade student who would like to test their knowledge of government and flag etiquette. They may win a scholarship!
