Everyone in Portage, thank you for making PIP and the 4th of July celebration so special to me over the years. I think we have made strides to put Portage's celebration putting it at the forefront of the region. I don't know what will happen but I have been proud to coordinate this great event for the last 4 years. A special thanks to Norma and Sam Laboy...none of this could have happened without you.

The annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting will take place at 5:00 on Saturday December 3rd. As always, Santa will arrive at City Hall and be available after the lighting of the trees. All are welcome to participate in the parade. The parade will leave Kyle Elementary School at 5:00 and travel down Central Ave to City Hall. Applications can be found on the City of Portage website. There is no application deadline, so come on out and help Portage kick off the holiday season.

Thanks to everyone who helped make this year's event the best in the region. A special thanks to the Portage Parks Department and Street Department for all their work in setup and tear down. We couldn't do the event without the help of our Portage Police Officers and Firefighters. Thanks to all.

It's official. High Noon will be performing at the 4th of July festival courtesy of Samuelson Insurance. Be sure to give Ken Lorenz and anyone from Samuelson Insurance a big thank you for providing the afternoon entertainment.
