The Friends of The Portage Zhang Senior Center The Friends is a non-profit membership organization whose purpose is to support the Portage Zhang Senior Center financially through fundraising.

The Friends of the Portage Senior Center is a non-profit membership organization founded in 1992. Itโ€™s purpose is to support the Portage Senior Center/Senior Services financially by encouraging sponsorships, gifts, and bequests and by stimulating public interest in the PSC and Senior Citizen Services. It seeks to ensure both short and long-term funding for the services provided by the Portage Seni

or Center/Senior Services. The City of Portage contributes approximately 20% of the Senior Center operating funds. Thus, it is necessary for the Friends to raise the remaining 80% through memberships, fundraising, and donations.

More than 300 people of all ages came to see the arrival from Detroit of the first North Central Airlines flight into Kalamazoo, midway to its Chicago destination.

The City of Kalamazoo and the Chamber of Commerce had spent 18 years working to get air service from Kalamazoo to these two cities!
