We’d like to give a big thank you to Dawn, owner of Dean’s, for generously donating and catering the delicious prime rib, chicken, sides, and all the fixings for our Groomer Appreciation Evening!

Thank you as well to Tyler from Dean’s for all your help—we truly appreciate it.

A huge shout-out to our dedicated groomer operators and our Trail Master, Glenn Cusack—your hard work keeps our trails in top shape all season long.

Unfortunately, due to the forecasted weather, we have decided to cancel the Hot Dog Roast on Carr Pond scheduled for this Saturday.

But don’t worry—we’re still getting together!

Please join us at the Portage Lakers Groomer Shed from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM for hot dogs and homemade French fries.

We hope to see everyone there!

Heads up riders!!

There is a broken down snowmobile on ITS 90 heading east toward the 105 rail bed (Washburn), sitting to the side in the westbound lane approximately 3 miles outside of town.

Please proceed with caution in that area and watch for the sled on the trail. Ride safe!

What a SWEET success!! 🍰🥧🍪❄️

Last night’s auction with the Portage Lakers Snowmobile Club was absolutely amazing! From pies to cakes, cookies & stew — and every delicious treat in between — the tables were overflowing with homemade goodness and the bidding was just as exciting as the desserts!

The room was full of laughter, friendly competition, and so much community spirit. Watching everyone rally together to support our club was truly heartwarming. 💙🛷

Because of YOU — our incredible bakers, generous bidders, hardworking volunteers, and supportive community — the event was a huge success! Every dollar raised helps keep our trails groomed and our club events running strong all season long.

Wow! What a night! Portage Lakers had yet again another successful pie auction . If you haven’t ever been, Well… that’s no fault but your own. Join us next year. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you to our supporters and members that donated pies, bought raffle tickets, bid on pies or just came to support the Portage Lakers. Thank you Chris Carroll for your amazing auctioneering. Chris donates his time and skills to auctioneer this event year after year for the Portage Lakers and we couldn’t be as successful as we are without him. Thank you to Beth Hunter for organizing this event. You nailed it as usual.
Thank you to Chip Hafford, Speirs Construction and Remodeling, and Points North Lodging for their generous donation from a very successful first ever alligator barbecue and kids ice fishing Derby in Portage Lake Maine. Join us in 2027!

Follow-up to yesterday’s work on the trail at the turnaround: all work has been completed on both sides of the turnaround and signs are now up.

👉 Please do NOT ride on the plowed road.

⚠️ Trail Update – ITS 85 ⚠️

The Portage Lakers Snowmobile Club would like to inform riders that there will be equipment on the trail starting Thursday on ITS 85 at the Portage and the Eagle Lake turnaround as a road is being opened for a wood harvest that will continue through the remainder of the season.

Our volunteers were out today rerouting the trail to the side of the road.

👉 Please stay OFF the plowed road.

Additional brushing and cutting will continue on the reroute, so conditions may change.

Please slow down, stay alert, and use extra caution when traveling through this area. Thank you for your cooperation and for riding safely! ❄️🏁
