Portage Parks Foundation

As you may or may not have known, the Portage Friends of the Parks group was an initiative by the Portage Park Board as a means of acquiring additional financial means to further our wonderful park system.

As of early 2019, a board was seated and the 501(c)(3) paperwork was approved and filed to establish this group under their new chosen name, Portage Parks Foundation.

This page will remain dedicated to the Portage Parks and will be jointly run going forward by members of the Park Board and the new Foundation including all our meetings, events, and happenings with the City of Portage, MI.

Kalamazoo/Portage will be getting an aerial mosquito treatment on Sunday evening/Monday morning to assist in preventing the spread of EEE.

As of Sept. 27, EEE has been confirmed in nine people in lower Michigan, with three fatalities, and 27 animal fatalities have occurred.

Our final performances of the day by Alexis Ternan & Sava Velkoff are taking place at the amphitheater now as a part of Heritage Festival - Portage Michigan! Also, last chance to enter the MyHeritage giveaway!

Live at the amphitheater, dancers from the Kalamazoo Scottish Festival Association for the next hour at Heritage Festival - Portage Michigan. If you haven't entered the MyHeritage giveaway yet, you should probably go do that, no cost to enter but you must be 18 to win - one entry per person. Also, PJW Creole Cuisine is serving up some great food while you enjoy your afternoon out here.
