Meet the Inductees (pt. 3/3)

PYA is pleased to announce the induction of three new members into the PYA Hall of Fame at its annual Gala on the night of Friday, June 5, 2026 at the North Hempstead Country Club.

Benje Kaminow has an extensive PYA background as an athlete and volunteer coach. He nurtured his ability in baseball (3 seasons), soccer (2 seasons), and tennis (4 seasons). He spent 3 fall seasons as a PYA football referee. At Schreiber in the early 1980s, he continued playing soccer, but was active in the winter and spring seasons playing basketball and two varsity years of lacrosse. Moving on to Syracuse University, Benje played lacrosse for three seasons for the Orange. Benje had an extensive career with a number of Wall Street firms but also was fully involved with building youth lacrosse programs in New York, specifically with CityLax as a board member and coach, and two programs in Harlem, winning multiple city championships in the PSAL. He has been recognized for these efforts reflected by his induction into the inaugural Hall of Fame class for NYC Lacrosse in 2008. Benje currently is a Director in the Predators Lacrosse Program helping to build it out in NYC and NJ, Director and coach in the Doc’s NYC youth program for over 25 years and 4-time Gold Medal winning coach in the NY Empire State Cup and is the head lacrosse coach at the Riverdale Country School in the Bronx.

Jim Dalimonte has been active in PYA since his youth, playing baseball and football, and also as a football referee while he attended Schreiber High School. He blossomed there while starring on the Viking varsity football (an All-Conference quarterback as a senior), and baseball (Honorable Mention All-County as a pitcher and second baseman) teams for two years each, being named MVP of the baseball team as a senior, and also leveraged his athletic skill on the varsity bowling team for 3 years. Jim attended Widener University where he also played baseball. He came back to Port and PYA to coach football, baseball, softball, lacrosse and basketball. Jim ran the football program as commissioner for 2 years and spent 3 years running the girls basketball program, too.

Jim served as PYA president for 2 years, secretary for an additional four, and his background as a First Vice President for UBS Financial Services was also key as he served on the legal/financial/insurance and nominating committees.
