On June 1st at approximately 8:00 PM, firefighters from Brinnon Fire Department and Quilcene Fire Rescue responded to a brush fire in Brinnon.

Working together, crews quickly established control lines and contained the fire to approximately 0.4 acres, preventing further spread into the surrounding area.

Incidents like this are a great reminder of the strong working relationship between our firefighters. We train together, respond together, and rely on one another when our communities need us most. That teamwork and cooperation help ensure the best possible outcome on emergency scenes, regardless of which department’s patch is on the shoulder.

Great work by all personnel involved and thank you to our community for your continued support.

On May 17, members of East Jefferson Professional Firefighters responded to a reported CPR in progress involving a participant in the Rhody Run.

Before crews arrived, bystanders immediately stepped in and began performing CPR. Several of those bystanders were healthcare workers who quickly recognized the severity of the situation and took action without hesitation. One of the bystanders was also a member of New Life Church, located directly across the street from where the runner collapsed. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, they directed someone to retrieve the church’s AED.

By the time firefighters and paramedics from Stations 1 and 2 arrived on scene, the patient was alert and breathing after a shock was delivered with the AED.

This is a powerful reminder that immediate action from bystanders saves lives.

We want to give a huge shoutout to everyone who stopped to help, including the healthcare workers who jumped into action, began CPR, retrieved the AED, and worked together to create a positive outcome for this patient. We also want to recognize New Life Church for having an AED readily available for the community when it was needed most.

Thank you to the crews from Stations 1 and 2 for their quick response and professionalism.

Strong communities save lives.

This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the men and women of our armed forces who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

We honor our brothers and sisters who have served. They carry that same dedication right into the fire service, showing up every day to protect our community.

We’re grateful for their service.

Local 2032 Benevolent Fund and Friends of EJFR provided the funding to replace an aging and worn out access ramp for a Jefferson County resident.

The CARES team completed the project, replacing the unsafe ramp and helping create a safer and more accessible environment for the resident.

The mission of the Local 2032 Benevolent Fund is to support firefighters, their families, and the residents within the communities we serve by providing assistance during times of need. The fund also helps support activities and organizations that promote the values of family, community, and service.

This project is a great example of what can happen when community members, firefighters, and local organizations come together to help a neighbor in need.

Brinnon and Quilcene career firefighters are proud to be part of this program and to help teach the next generation.

For us, this is about more than just learning how to put gear on or use equipment. It’s about giving these cadets a real look at the fire service, sharing what we know, and helping them build confidence along the way.

Programs like this matter. They bring departments, firefighters, families, and communities together, and they give young people a chance to be part of something positive.

We’re excited to see this group progress!
