Pages of Perspective was never just about reading a book. It was about starting a conversation.

Earlier this month, our community gathered to listen, learn, and look more closely at foster care - not simply as a system, but through the experiences of the people who have lived it.

We heard from author Claudia Rowe and from local voices representing different perspectives within the foster care community. We talked about what’s working, where the gaps remain, and what it can look like when a community chooses to step closer instead of looking away.

And more than anything, we were reminded that relationships matter.

To every person who picked up a copy of Wards of the State, joined us on August 8th, asked a thoughtful question, shared their experience, or simply came ready to listen - thank you.

The conversation doesn’t end here.

Because changing the statistics starts with changing the way we see, understand, and show up for children, youth, and families experiencing foster care.

Curious about volunteering with Olympic Angels? Come hang out with us! 🤍

Our Virtual Volunteer Info Session is a casual space to connect, ask questions, and learn more about what it looks like to walk alongside children, youth, and families experiencing foster care through our Love Box and Dare to Dream programs.

✨ And next month, we’re adding something new!

After our regular volunteer info session, you’re invited to stick around for an optional 15-minute “Ways to Give” conversation. Volunteering isn’t the only way to make an impact, and we want our community to know about all the ways you can come alongside this work.

We’ll chat about:
• One-time and monthly giving
• In-kind donations
• Business partnerships
• Donor-advised funds
• Employer matching
• And other ways to support our mission

Come for the volunteer info, stay for the giving conversation, or simply come curious. There’s no pressure and no expectation - just an opportunity to learn more and find the way of getting involved that feels right for you.

At Olympic Angels, our mission is to walk alongside children, youth, and families in the foster care community by offering consistent support through intentional giving, relationship building, and mentorship. We believe no one should have to navigate foster care alone - and that belonging, stability, and community can change the trajectory of a life.

It’s easy to look at an impact report and just see numbers.

I don’t.

I see the volunteer who drove across town after work because they promised they’d show up.

I see the caregiver who finally felt supported.

I see the child who learned someone would keep coming back.

That’s what these numbers really represent.

Thank you for being part of a community that shows up with consistency, love, and hope for children and families experiencing foster care. We couldn’t do this without you. ❤️

What if one conversation could change the way you see foster care and how kids experience it? What if you could stop negative outcomes from ever becoming a child’s future?

Join us for a morning of honest stories, lived experience, and hope as author Claudia Rowe and local speakers share perspectives on the realities of foster care in our own communities.

This isn’t just a conversation about foster care - it’s a conversation about all of us. About the role relationships, understanding, and community support play in changing outcomes for children and families.
