Pastor's Perspective:

"A Broken Bench"
I looked through my (Pastor Joshua Johnson) FB memory feature this morning and saw a post with this picture from a few years ago. This worn and broken bench was in a neglected prayer garden in one of my former churches.
The prayer garden had been beautiful, was dedicated in memory of my Grandmother Shaefer who helped design it and who died as a member of that church. But over time it had been neglected and was broken and worn.
My post was after I had a mild/moderate stroke as part of my struggles with "Long Covid" a few years back. I felt like the bench, broken and worn. I wondered if my usefulness to God was over. At that time I was in PT, OT, Speech & Memory therapies.
I am incredibly thankful that God was not done with me. I am incredibly thankful I no longer feel like that bench. I am incredibly thankful, I can look ahead with joy not just to past memories.

Alesia Johnson planted annual geraniums and "wave" petunias in the parking lot entrance brick planter. They will grow and flow beautifully. One side of the street side steps has also been planted with annuals. The other side will follow this week.

Today is Trinity Sunday in the Christian liturgical year. The color liturgical color is white. Christians are reminded we worship One God in Three Persons: Father, Son & Holy Spirit.

Wednesday, May 27th:
-- Pastor Joshua Johnson has returned from vacation and is back on duty.
-- Bible Study "What to Do on the Worst Day of Your Life" 6:30 PM in Upper Room classroom. You will benefit even if you can only come to one week.

Thursday, May 28th:
-- Pastor and Alesia plant first batch of church flowers in parking lot entrance block and maybe some in front. Feel free to join us.

Sunday, May 31st:
-- Trinity Sunday (liturgical calendar)
