And here we go again… another family added to a list that continues to grow. 💔🩶🧠 Every new call is a reminder that these are not just numbers..they are real people, real families, and lives forever changed. Our numbers are going up, and it’s time we start asking why.

As we continue hearing from local brain tumor families, stories like this remind us that the journey doesn’t end with a diagnosis. For many patients, the fight for treatment is just beginning. 🩶🧠

Broqsten Bunt, 36, was denied insurance coverage to remove a brain tumor. However, after Investigative Reporter Katie LaGrone got involved, his insurer, Florida Blue, reversed course.

This is 44-year-old Matt, one of several local residents currently battling brain cancer.

He is a father who is currently battling
Glioblastoma (GBM), the most aggressive and deadly form of primary brain cancer.

Yesterday marked
Week 4 of radiation, with only 2 weeks remaining.

Glioblastoma is considered a terminal diagnosis. Despite advances in treatment, the average survival is approximately 12–24 months, with a median survival of about 15–17 months. Every patient is different, but the reality is that families facing GBM are fighting a battle no one should have to face.

Matt continues to show incredible strength and determination as he pushes through treatment. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers as he finishes these final weeks of radiation.

🩶No one fights alone.

A newly published study found that survivors of traumatic brain injury (TBI) had a higher rate of brain cancer mortality than the general population. Researchers emphasize that this study shows an association, not proof that head injuries cause brain cancer, and additional research is needed

A 37-year study finds TBI survivors are nearly twice as likely to die from brain cancer, with gunshot-wound and mild injuries carrying the greatest danger.
