This week, our GAP program worked with our partner CARHA to send over 500,000 GAP meals to Haiti. Many of you have packed these meals over the past months and your effort is now bearing fruit for those in need in Haiti. Thank you for you help and please be praying for Haiti as turmoil and unrest continues in the country.

Dear CARHA family,

As many of you know the ongoing crisis in Haiti and the rebel forces that have taken control of Port-au-Prince. Even though CARHA is based in the north, and doesn’t call the capital home, targeted attacks on key infrastructure, including airport and prisons, have overwhelmed government forces and impacted the entire country socioeconomically –leaving the people of Haiti to fend for themselves with insecurity in full swing.

We can report that inside our walls, we are safe and doing what we always do: provide a sense of normalcy and fellowship for our 36 future leaders and staff. There have been ongoing school shutdowns in our area because of financial strains across the country but, by God’s grace, our schools haven’t been affected.

While safety isn’t an immediate concern for communities outside of the capital, this latest unrest has amplified our concerns and needs for planning and support.

As Christians, we know the same Holy Spirit that dwells within us is with our people in Haiti and advocating on our behalf.

Please continue to lift Haiti up in your prayers and stay tuned for updates and how you can partner with us to be the hands and feet of Jesus in Haiti!

What a blessing Resurrection Sunday was for our CARHA churches!

Over 18 young people in our St Martin and Bayonnais campuses made their faith public and were baptized! Praise God!

Just as we celebrate the resurrection of Christ, we are reminded in Romans 6:4 that “[] we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives.”

Baptism reminds us to live a life set apart and worthy of His sacrifice on the cross. A life free from shame, full of grace, truth and restoration. A life transformed!

He’s not done yet and for that we say thank you and amen!
