Sunny Side Up Rescue, Inc. Sunny Side Up Rescue is a non-profit organization specializing in the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of homeless and/or abused animals.

Sunny Side Up Pet Rescue Florida is located in Port St.Lucie. We’re 100% volunteer-operated and funded solely through donations. All animals in need are welcome here, although it’s primarily dogs and horses currently. While continuing our broad scope of animals that are rescued, we have begun to take in more at-risk equines. We primarily focus on the elderly, starved, and abused horses within the

slaughter pipeline—those with less of a chance of being saved due to their condition. We offer sanctuary for life to animals that are not adoptable for whatever reason, as well as rehabilitating and adopting out ones that just require a second chance.

A HUGE HOOVES UP to Taylor Marie Lovejoy for getting halters on the unhandled horses. We met Taylor when she came out to adopt Fern a few years ago. Now she has a little extra time and she's honing her skills on the assortment we have out here.

Taylor has been faithfully and patiently working with this group, showing them that not all people are bad❤️ She also clipped Tilly for us a few weekends ago. And you know there's always p**p to scoop 🤣

As a senior, Leo found himself in the county shelter last spring. Very shortly after we pulled him, Laura and her family welcomed him with open arms and hearts. We will forever be grateful for the life they gave him that he so deserved ❤️

The peahens have been busy hatching eggs this year. We will have peachicks (unsexed at this point) available in a month or so.

Once imprinted on your property, they don't need to be penned up. As long as you feed them well and consistently, they stay home. They can be loud, however, so these aren't backyard birds if you live in the city.
