It is painfully difficult and with heartfelt sadness that we announce The Port Saint Lucie Christmas House will NOT be able to open this year.
While this decision is upsetting, we must trust our faith in doing what we can and cannot do physically, financially and emotionally.
In addition, one of our Sponsors responsible for paying The City of Port Saint Lucie Police Off Duty Detail for protection in 2021, backed out and did not pay the $4,600 leaving us the responsibility of having to pay for it. We cannot afford this, do not have the money and we have been advised that we will not be able to get police protection for 2023 and the City Attorney may sue us afterall.
As well, Jerome has a rare form of blood cancer called MelioFibrosis and treatments are costly, he doesn't have the ability to do what is needed to build the Christmas House and medical needs coincide with the dates we projected for The Christmas House this year. Though we have tried we simply cannot afford it and unable to trade off serious Cancer for Christmas.
