Christian Community Development FUND

Christian Community Development FUND The CCDF is a non-profit organization that does small home repairs for the low income elderly and di The Christian Community Development Fund Inc.

is a 501(c)(3) organization providing home renovations at no cost for Gulf County low to very low-income elderly and disabled homeowners. Our Mission:

Making a positive influence in the lives of the low to very low income elderly and disabled homeowners of Gulf County by reparing their substandard homes. Through volunteer labor, discounted skilled labor and materials, CCDF supports area citizens

in need, assuring their residences are safe, secure, and habitable. We repair and replace deteriorated roofing, flooring, ceiling, walls, plumbing, electrical wiring, doors and windows, kitchen cabinets, bathrooms as well as interior and exterior painting. Additionally, CCDF assists in making homes more accessible for the disabled, building ramps, rails and adjusting doorway clearances. A large number of elderly citizens reside in homes over 40-50 years old. The closure of the local paper mill in the late 90’s forced many individuals to relocate, leaving elderly relatives behind without the benefit of a support system. These individuals rely on assistance from area churches, senior citizen and community programs, as well as the CCDF. The work of the CCDF helps ensure these individuals can remain independent in a safe and habitable home. The CCDF and the Gulf County Property Appraiser Office conducted a survey in 2009 of the rural areas populated mainly by low income and elderly citizens. The majority of homes in these areas are over 40 years old and owned by citizens who fall under the qualification guidelines used by the CCDF Home Repair Program.

Meet Slinky — Wiggly, Playful, and Full of Puppy Personality!

Slinky might be small now, but his personality is already larger than life! This adorable pup came to the shelter in rough shape, abandoned and covered in fleas—but you’d never guess it by the way he’s bounced back. Thanks to the love and care of the shelter team, Slinky is gaining weight, building confidence, and letting his goofy, affectionate nature shine.

Like any young pup, he’s still learning the ropes—including leash manners and all the things that come with growing up—so he’ll need a family ready to offer patience, consistency, and lots of love.

Slinky is microchipped, up-to-date on his vaccinations, and will be neutered when he’s old enough.

*** UPDATE! FOSTER FOUND! THANK YOU SO MUCH EVERYONE FOR YOUR SUPPORT! ***

FOSTER NEEDED!
This little baby was brought in yesterday needing some serious help. This little girl was covered in Epoxy Resin. One of our staff spent most of the day getting the bulk of the sticky substance off. She was here late last night working on helping this kitten get out of her sticky mess. There are still some traces of the resin in her fur, and we are still working on getting it all off. But we need a foster for her. Someone to help her recover from this ordeal. If you have the time and experience, Please reach out to us. Please contact the shelter for more information. 850-227-1103 or https://www.sjbhumanesociety.org/ and fill out an application. Thank you!

Mandisa: 1976-2024.

"Mandisa loved Jesus, and she used her unusually extensive platform to talk about Him at every turn. Her kindness was epic, her smile electric, her voice massive, but it was no match for the size of her heart. Mandisa struggled, and she was vulnerable enough to share that with us, which helped us talk about our own struggles. Mandisa’s struggles are over, she is with the God she sang about now. While we are saddened, Mandisa is home. We’re praying for Mandisa’s family and friends and ask you to join us." – David Pierce, K-LOVE Chief Media Officer
